Jordan’s Food and Drug Administration is conducting an in-depth review of the circulation of food and pharmaceuticals, and will set a maximum limit for samples of e-cigarettes while adopting stricter measures to ensure the safety of imported goods. Customs authorities will strictly inspect shipments that fail to meet requirements and take steps to improve the security of air cargo.
According to a flash report by khaberni on September 25, Dr. Nizar Mahidat, Director General of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration, carried out an in-depth review of the circulation of food, medicines, and medical supplies, and conducted inspections at the air cargo customs office of Queen Alia International Airport and at the customs office of Tahlees Airport.
He stressed the importance of setting a maximum quantity limit for personal imports of e-cigarettes (vapes), heated tobacco products, and e-liquid for e-cigarettes, noting that any intention for commercial use must be strictly controlled. He also called for strict enforcement against food, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and supplies that do not match the details stated in their documentation.
