Enforcement Delivers Results: Illegal Tobacco Share Falls in Rostov, Russia

According to Bloknot news on September 27, the share of illegal tobacco products in the Rostov region has sharply decreased due to the intervention of federal inspection organizations and law enforcement agencies. This view was expressed by Denis Terskov, head of the interregional campaign against counterfeit products.
According to data from the Russian Scientific Center on combating the illegal trafficking of industrial products, the share of counterfeit tobacco in the Rostov region decreased from 40% in mid-2022 to 34.9% in the fourth quarter of 2022, and further to 28.1% in the second and third quarters of 2023. Meanwhile, the proportion of illegal tobacco products across Russia stands at 13.9%.
