Russia Shuts Down Two Illegal E-Cigarette Retail Points Inside Metro Stations
Following a complaint from a local resident, prosecutors shut down a kiosk selling tobacco and nicotine products inside the “Заельцовская” metro station in Novosibirsk, Russia.
According to a report by Russian media outlet nsk.tsargrad.tv, prosecutors closed a kiosk selling tobacco and nicotine products inside the “Заельцовская” metro station in Novosibirsk after receiving a complaint from a citizen.
During the investigation, prosecutors found that the kiosks were located in the underground passage of the “Заельцовская” metro station and were selling products including tobacco products and e-cigarettes, constituting illegal retail sales.
Under the Federal Law “On Protecting Citizens from Exposure to Environmental Tobacco Smoke and the Consequences of Tobacco Use or Nicotine Product Use,” retail sales of such products are prohibited in metro stations.
With prosecutorial intervention, the two illegal retail points were successfully shut down.
