UK seizes 1,400 high-puff disposable vapes with retail value exceeding £18,000
UK trading standards authorities have seized nearly 1,400 illegal vaping devices. These were all high-capacity disposable products with a retail value of more than £18,000 (about RMB 160,000).
According to a BBC report on September 19, trading standards officers carried out spot inspections on September 18 at four vape shops in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, England, and seized nearly 1,400 illegal vaping devices. Laura Burgess of Newcastle-under-Lyme Trading Standards said that under UK regulations, e-liquid capacity in vaping devices is limited to 2 ml, which is roughly equivalent to 600 puffs. However, some of the seized products contained as much as 14 ml of e-liquid, equivalent to about 7,000 puffs.

The case is currently under further investigation.
The report noted that, so far this year, the borough has seized more than 8,000 illegal vape products, compared with 9,500 during the same period last year.
