Distributors Complain About Germany’s Vape Market: Compliance Procedures Are Complex and Time-Consum
The representative from the German distributor E-ZIGARETTEN-HANDEL.DE stated that the compliance procedures for the German e-cigarette market are relatively cumbersome and time-consuming.
[Two Supremes reported from Dortmund] At the tobacco exhibition in Dortmund on September 15, the representative shared some insights about their business with Two Supremes. They primarily focus on the markets in Germany and Austria, with popular brands including ELFBAR, VOOPOO, and ELFLIO.
When discussing the current state of the German market, the representative mentioned that since Germany increased the e-liquid tax, many smaller distributors have shut down within three months, and many brands have also faced some restrictions.
Additionally, the representative pointed out that the compliance procedures for the German e-cigarette market are relatively cumbersome and require more time. He illustrated this with two specific examples: the packaging and compliance information for German e-cigarette products are subject to extremely strict regulations, which means brands need to invest more in this area. Furthermore, if a product has a 'warning label' in Austria, it cannot be sold directly in Germany and must be re-made to comply with German regulatory requirements.
