According to news from the UK retail website betterretailing, Philip Morris Limited (PML) has launched its next-generation IQOS Iluma devices in the UK market.
Public information reveals that the series includes three devices: Iluma One, Iluma, and Iluma Prime. These three devices share the same core technology but are designed to meet different preferences and price points.
Iluma One is the most affordable option in the series, retailing at £39, Iluma at £69, and Iluma Prime, the most advanced device, at £109.
Suppliers state that the series offers numerous advantages, including the Smartcore induction system, which uses a blade-free magnetic heating system, eliminating the need for cleaning.
In terms of pricing, suppliers add that it is more affordable compared to traditional cigarettes, with smokers switching to Iluma One potentially saving up to £3,000 annually.
Suppliers explain that retailers currently stocking IQOS Originals and Heets can expect the same bottom-line boost from the new devices.
All three Iluma devices and Terea (new tobacco sticks) offer equivalent profit margins, with Terea tobacco sticks available in nine different tobacco blends. The cash profit margin for Iluma One may match that of IQOS Originals. Over time, IQOS Originals will gradually exit the market.
