Illegal Tobacco and E-Cigarettes Worth £45,000 Seized in West Yorkshire, UK

Police in West Yorkshire, UK, seized 12,000 cigarettes, 4 kilograms of hand-rolling tobacco, and 4,500 e-cigarettes, with a total retail value of £45,000.
According to an August 29 announcement on the official website of West Yorkshire Police, officers seized a total of 12,000 cigarettes, 4 kilograms of hand-rolling tobacco, and 4,500 e-cigarettes, with a total retail value of £45,000.
This seizure was part of a broader operation, and police said they have confiscated illegal goods worth a total of £100,000 over the past year.
Police stressed that cash generated from the sale of such products may be used to fund organized criminal activity, and that the products are also suspected of being sold to underage children.
Sergeant Amanda Hallroyd of the Kirklees Town Centre Partnership said: “The sale of these products has caused concern among residents, especially when we understand that they may not meet UK standards and are suspected of being sold to children. We must focus on cutting off funding sources for serious crime, which can harm communities.”
