To maintain order in the cigarette market during the summer vacation and effectively combat illegal manufacturing and sales of e-cigarettes, the Yiwu Tobacco Monopoly Bureau has continued to deepen inter-departmental collaboration. On July 6, they successfully seized a case involving the illegal sale of e-cigarettes worth over 1.08 million RMB in conjunction with the Yiwu Public Security Department. This is the second case this year where the bureau has seized e-cigarettes valued over one million RMB.

In early July, the Yiwu Tobacco Monopoly Bureau received complaints stating that "someone is selling illegally manufactured e-cigarettes through online channels, with the shipping address being Yiwu." Based on this intelligence, the bureau quickly responded, collaborating with the police to conduct comprehensive analysis and organize multi-point control based on the results.

In the early hours of July 6, the bureau's inspection personnel conducted joint law enforcement with local police, seizing 8,806 disposable e-cigarettes, 762 e-cigarette devices, and 6,537 flavored pods, totaling 19,611 items, with a case value exceeding 1.08 million RMB, and identifying two suspects involved.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects primarily used online transactions and express delivery to develop downstream agents, selling illegally manufactured e-cigarettes across various regions. The case is currently under further investigation.

It is reported that in response to the situation where criminals exploit Yiwu's developed retail, e-commerce, and logistics industries to sell illegally manufactured e-cigarettes, the Yiwu Tobacco Monopoly Bureau is focusing on local market characteristics, guided by "data sharing and intelligence sharing," exploring a combat approach of "joint analysis and integrated intelligence operations." They are deepening collaboration with multiple departments, including public security, transportation management, customs, and market supervision, to establish a practical cooperation mechanism for "joint consultation, comprehensive analysis, and collaborative law enforcement," continuously improving the joint law enforcement ecosystem, and strictly combating illegal activities related to e-cigarettes.

Moving forward, the Yiwu Tobacco Monopoly Bureau will focus on cracking down on key links such as online sales and offline assembly and distribution, maintaining a high-pressure regulatory stance on the e-cigarette market, and continuously standardizing the order of e-cigarette operations.
