According to foreign media reports, health compliance officials in Western Australia recently seized illegal e-cigarettes worth AUD 1 million, totaling 17,000 units, marking the largest e-cigarette seizure case in Western Australia.

After receiving a tip-off, law enforcement officers intercepted a truck in Perth from New South Wales carrying 17,000 e-cigarettes, and subsequently confiscated all the e-cigarettes on board. A 22-year-old man from Perth is currently assisting relevant authorities with the investigation.
Tests on the liquid components of the seized e-cigarettes showed that they contained nicotine. Under Australian law, it is illegal to manufacture, supply, or possess nicotine-containing products without a doctor's prescription.
Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson stated, "This is the largest seizure in Western Australia to date. In previous compliance activities, the WA Health Department has confiscated over 26,000 illegal e-cigarettes in total. We have strengthened monitoring and compliance activities statewide to impose restrictions on the illegal sale of e-cigarettes."
