7 detained, over RMB 60 million involved: Liaoning cracks first full-chain vaping-related illegal ca
Recently, the Fushun Public Security Bureau successfully cracked the first full-chain illegal case related to vaping in Liaoning Province. This case involves seven cities across four provinces: Liaoning, Guangdong, Shanghai, and Jilin, with a total of 7 people criminally detained, 3 released on bail, and 1 wanted online. Preliminary statistics indicate that the amount involved exceeds RMB 60 million.

Since February 2023, the Fushun Tobacco Bureau has received multiple reports from the public stating that individuals frequently purchase illegal vaping products such as "cola cans and milk tea cups" from Guangdong through SF Express delivery stations and sell them online. After data analysis and precise investigations, the police deployed over 70 personnel, including law enforcement and tobacco monopoly inspection officers, to conduct a sweep in Liaoning, Guangdong, Shanghai, and Jilin, dismantling two illegal vaping production sites. They seized over 5,100 finished illegal vaping products, 26,885 semi-finished products, 359,747 production accessories, 40 small vaping processing machines, and 17 bank cards used for settling payments for counterfeit vaping products, along with over 20 involved accounts.

The case is currently under further investigation. The next steps will focus on verifying sales to minors, deeply tracing the flow of the illegal vaping market, and extending efforts to suppliers of raw materials for vaping production to further expand the results of the case.
