According to today's news, in the state of Illinois, a ban on the use of e-cigarettes in public buildings is just one step away from becoming law.
According to CBS News today, both the Illinois House and Senate have passed a bill that makes Illinois the 18th state in the U.S. to prohibit indoor vaping.
The bill was initiated by State Senator Julie Morrison. It expands Illinois' smoke-free law, which prohibits smoking in public buildings and within 15 feet of entrances.
The bill will now be sent to Governor JB Pritzker's office for signing into law.
Illinois also passed a law in 2019 raising the legal age for purchasing tobacco products from 18 to 21, and in 2022, it restricted advertising for e-cigarette products.
