Serbia to fine distributors that sell e-cigarettes to minors
Key takeaway: Serbia has recently revised its Consumer Protection Law and will fine distributors 50,000 Serbian dinars for selling e-cigarettes or other tobacco products to minors.
Serbia recently amended its Consumer Protection Law to impose a fine of 50,000 Serbian dinars (1 Serbian dinar is approximately RMB 0.06) on distributors that sell e-cigarettes or other tobacco products to minors.
Serbia’s Ministry of Internal and Foreign Trade said that the country’s previous laws did not define e-cigarettes or prohibit their sale to minors, and that the amended Consumer Protection Law fills this regulatory gap. The revised law stipulates that the sale and gifting of e-cigarettes to persons under the age of 18 are prohibited.
