Philippine government to remove non-compliant online e-cigarette sellers
Today’s news, on April 29, reports that the Philippine government will remove over 15,000 non-compliant vaping sellers from the online market.
"We have monitored nearly 15,000 sellers online," said Ruth Castelo, Deputy Minister of Trade. "We have recommended that platforms remove nearly 15,000 non-compliant platforms that we have observed. These sellers already have cases against them."
Unregistered vaping products are subject to the vaping law that took effect on December 28, 2022, which prohibits the packaging and sale of products with flavors, colorful cartoons, etc., within 100 meters of schools.
"If online platforms strictly comply, there is no need to remove the sale of these products," Castelo said. "It has been indicated which products cannot be sold, but some products still evade detection."
