State Tobacco Monopoly Administration Conducts Special Inspection of E-Cigarette Market Order in Gua

Jingchu Net (Hubei Daily Online) reports (correspondents Wang Xiaoguo and Wu Yusheng): Recently, a delegation from the E-Cigarette Administration Office of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration went to Guangshui City to carry out a special inspection aimed at standardizing e-cigarette market order. The head of the E-Cigarette Administration Office of the Hubei Provincial Tobacco Monopoly Administration, along with the principal and deputy officials in charge from the Suizhou Tobacco Monopoly Administration (Company), accompanied the inspection.

The inspection team visited Hubei Mantianyou Biotechnology Co., Ltd. on site. Targeting this unlicensed e-cigarette manufacturing enterprise, the team went deep into the factory workshops to understand the company’s current situation and its business conditions after suspending and shifting away from e-cigarette production. They also closely examined e-cigarette production records and changes to the business scope on its business license. The team then conducted random checks on some licensed e-cigarette retail entities in Guangshui, Suizhou.

The inspection team affirmed the e-cigarette market management work of the Suizhou Tobacco Monopoly Administration, saying that Suizhou’s e-cigarette regulation has been fast to act, strong in enforcement, tough in measures, and effective in results.

Next, the Suizhou bureau will take this special inspection by the national administration as an opportunity, follow the principles of “localized management and localized service,” lawfully perform its e-cigarette regulatory duties, and continue strengthening the effectiveness and standards of integrated online and offline supervision. It will work to build a market supervision system for e-cigarettes featuring “online cleanup, offline control, full-chain coverage, and joint governance,” contributing Suizhou’s strength to advancing the rule-based and standardized governance of the national e-cigarette industry.
