Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, March 28 - (Reporter Lu Junyu) In order to further strengthen the regulation of the capital's e-cigarette market and maintain a good business order, in accordance with the overall deployment requirements of the National Tobacco Monopoly Administration and the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Government regarding the rectification of flavored e-cigarettes such as "milk tea cups" and "cola cans," the Beijing Tobacco Monopoly Bureau and the Market Supervision Bureau jointly organized a month-long special law enforcement action against "three no" e-cigarettes starting from January 19. This action comprehensively inspected various e-cigarette business entities, focusing on cracking down on the production and sale of "milk tea cups," "cola cans," and other "three no" e-cigarette products, as well as illegal advertising of e-cigarettes.
By the end of February, a total of 1,547 e-cigarette production and operation entities were inspected, 18 illegal cases were investigated, and 28,600 illegal e-cigarette products were seized, with an involved amount of 2.1372 million yuan. Three people were criminally detained by the public security organs in accordance with the law. This joint law enforcement action has effectively deterred illegal activities related to e-cigarettes, enhanced the promotion of lawful business practices, and played a positive role in protecting minors from the harm of e-cigarettes, maintaining the rights and interests of legitimate market entities and consumers, and ensuring a good order in the capital's e-cigarette market.
