According to AKIPress, Kazakhstani lawmaker Amanzhan Zhamalov stated that Kazakhstan will ban the sale and use of vaping devices.
Legislators also decided to impose a 70% excise tax on "heated tobacco sticks." The AKIPress article did not immediately clarify whether "tobacco sticks" refers to heated tobacco sticks or something else.

Earlier, the country's Minister of National Economy, Alibek Kuandykov, announced a plan to raise the excise tax on cigarettes to nearly $30 by 2024.
It was also suggested to increase the excise tax on other tobacco products, such as heated tobacco, to align with the tobacco product excise taxes within the Eurasian Economic Union. According to the minister, this will require a phased increase in tariffs.
