Germany raises tobacco product taxes for the first time in seven years; vaping product prices affect
According to LR Online, Germany has raised taxes on tobacco products for the first time in seven years, with the average price of a pack of 20 cigarettes now increasing by 0.10 euros compared to the previous year.<\/span><\/p>
Starting in 2023, prices will rise again by 0.10 euros, and in 2025 and 2026, prices will increase by another 0.15 euros.<\/span><\/p>
With Germany's decision to tax e-liquids, the prices of electronic vaping products will also increase. Starting July 1, 2022, the tax on previously 10-milliliter e-liquid products priced at around 4 euros will be raised to 1.60 euros, bringing the price to approximately 5.60 euros. In 2024, the tax will increase to 2.00 euros, meaning the cost of e-liquids will be around 6 euros. In 2025 and 2026, the tax will increase by another 0.60 euros, resulting in total product prices of 6.60 euros and 7.20 euros, respectively.<\/span><\/p>
