MOTI S lite Device Sets Off on a New Journey with Anodized Aluminum Alloy and Powerful Ceramic Coil

The intersection of technology and minimalism is truly remarkable; it is both enchanting and magical, forming the basis of this new product series.

Today, we present the new product from MOTI, the MOTI S Lite.

Although the name includes 'Lite', based on the information I have received and my usage experience over this period, it feels more like an upgraded version rather than a simplified one.

Firstly, in terms of appearance, the MOTI S Lite features an anodized finish with a gradient color that shows no color break. It is said that the cost of the paint finish has increased by 80% compared to previous versions. The shell material is aluminum alloy, which is processed through CNC precision milling, and the air intake hole size has been modified to 0.6mm, resulting in a tighter draw compared to previous models. A small groove has been added at the connection between the device and the pod to ensure smoother inhalation. The charging port has been upgraded to TYPE-C and supports fast charging, with a 400mAh battery fully charged in under an hour.

The previous issue of difficulty inserting the pod has been resolved; now, there is no difficulty in inserting the pod. Additionally, the pod connection method is not just a simple magnetic attachment; a buckle has been added to the pod to prevent the previous S version's loose connection issue. Furthermore, the contact issue seen in the previous generation has been upgraded with a POGO PIN soldering design, making the pins more stable and durable. The magnetic attachment and electrode separation design prevent the issue of the magnetic attachment falling off and rendering the device unusable.

Compared to other high-end devices on the market, the MOTI S Lite's interactive features include a more varied frequency of light flashes and color changes, providing more dimensions of reminder functions. When the indicator light is white, the battery is full; yellow indicates medium battery; and red indicates low battery, prompting charging. If the number of puffs reaches 20 within 10 minutes, there will be a vibration. This 10-minute design is more accurate than the non-timed vibrations of other brands, allowing users to intuitively feel the status of the device through light flashes and vibrations.

Additionally, this device has a hidden feature—Turbo Mode. To activate this mode, simply insert the pod without fully securing it and pull it in and out three to four times within two seconds. Once Turbo Mode is activated, the device vibrates continuously, and the indicator light turns purple. (However, due to the strong magnetic attachment and buckle, this mode is not very easy to activate.) Once activated, it will automatically switch back to normal mode after 60 seconds or after three puffs.

Now, let's talk about why this product is called a smart pod system. Most mainstream products on the market are designed with a power output of 6W, while the MOTI S Lite's power output follows a curve. This curve is derived from 2 million valid data points collected through a Bluetooth app, allowing for a temperature curve that was previously manually adjusted in the S version to be automatically optimized in this new device, making it more convenient to use.

Another innovative technology is the "breaking the cold start" technique, which is also applied to the aforementioned data curve. The reason why the first puff and subsequent puffs of many e-cigarettes taste different is that the heating element's temperature is not constant. The first puff starts with less carbon buildup and heats up quickly, which significantly affects the evaporation of the flavoring. This principle can also be applied to cooking; for example, why dishes cooked in restaurants taste better than those cooked at home is due to the high-pressure stove's intense heat. Similarly, the MOTI S Lite is equipped with a momentary high-power burst that instantly heats the atomizer, activating the flavoring in the e-liquid for a fuller taste (Turbo Mode enhances the experience).

Next, let's discuss the pods:

The pod structure uses the mainstream FELLM custom ceramic core, which is widely used in mainstream pods (such as RELX, YOOZ, VFOlk, and other pod systems). Compared to other products on the market, the MOTI S Lite's high-end custom FELLM pod provides a denser flavor and fuller vapor production. Professional thermal simulation, airflow simulation, and oil guiding simulation calculations ensure a more reasonable structure. The airflow simulation design and single-layer mouthpiece design minimize condensation, and a five-layer structure prevents leakage (whether placed down or under negative pressure), ensuring zero leakage during use. I placed this device in my car under the sun for a day, and when I took it out in the evening, there was no leakage.

Flavor options include Passion Fruit Mango, Green Bean Smoothie, Cola Time, Mountain Raspberry, Mint Tobacco, Refreshing Green Apple, and Peach Oolong. I only tested Passion Fruit Mango, Green Bean Smoothie, and Cola Time, and here are my impressions:

Passion Fruit Mango: This flavor replicates mango puree, with a taste that balances between green and ripe mango, featuring the sweet aroma of mango along with a hint of astringency from green mango, complemented by a mild cooling sensation, making this flavor intriguing and not cloying. Interestingly, when you activate Turbo Mode, the flavor of this e-liquid changes significantly, with a higher cooling sensation and an enhanced green mango flavor; if tested blindly, this would definitely feel like two different pods.

Green Bean Smoothie: This flavor is quite similar to the first generation of MOTI, with a refreshing and cool green bean taste. The aroma of green beans lingers in the mouth after exhaling. When Turbo Mode is activated, this pod feels as if it has just been taken out of a -263°C freezer, providing a refreshing experience perfect for summer.

Cola Time: Cola is a flavor that is difficult to replicate accurately because it is hard to simulate the carbonation sensation with conventional flavoring. We can only use cooling to mimic this feeling. In normal mode, this pod gives us a sweet cola flavor without carbonation. However, when Turbo Mode is activated, we experience a slight carbonation sensation in the mouth, which, although minimal, is a familiar feeling and certainly better than other brands' cola flavors.

However, the pod capacity is indeed quite small at 1.2ml. Although the brand claims it is designed for one pod per day to prevent e-liquid oxidation and to avoid carbon buildup affecting health and flavor, I still find it a bit pricey as a consumer.
