In terms of product design, I personally feel that rather than being a mini version of Charon TS, it is more like an upgraded version of Smoant Cylon (赛隆) (hereinafter referred to as Cylon), as the Charon MINI looks more similar to Cylon, featuring a pillar shape and a centered 510 interface, while also operating with physical buttons like Cylon.
Although similar to Cylon, the Charon MINI appears to be more slender and refined, enhancing the quality feel. The layout of various elements on the body is also more harmonious and aesthetically pleasing, making it one of the more outstanding mods currently available.
Due to its slender design and the chamfered edges, the hand feel of the Charon MINI has improved significantly, providing comfort without being cumbersome, and the weight is moderate, not straining the hand.
The 510 interface of the Charon MINI still adopts a centered design, and the design is very thoughtful, eliminating concerns about the atomizer scratching the top paint surface. The above image shows the connection effect with the SMOK TFV12 Prince Cobra Edition atomizer.
The front is covered with a whole piece of tempered PMMA panel (PMMA stands for polymethyl methacrylate, commonly known as acrylic, which is one of the best synthetic transparent materials available). The embedded display screen below the panel is 2.0 inches, which is relatively large even by current standards, ensuring convenience in reading and contributing to the high-end feel of the Charon MINI. The back of the Charon MINI is also covered with a PMMA panel, and the crystal pattern enhances its aesthetic appeal, reportedly the latest family texture from Smoant.
As we know, most mods tend to have paint peeling issues after prolonged use, which severely affects the product's aesthetics. However, the extensive use of PMMA material in the Charon MINI significantly reduces the probability of paint peeling, ensuring it remains looking new for a long time, as PMMA is relatively hard and has good abrasion resistance.
As seen in the image, the design of the +/- buttons is quite exquisite, tightly embedded in the main body without any wobbling; the fire button is also very refined, with a fingerprint pattern that enhances the comfort of touch; the bottom features a row of heat dissipation and pressure relief holes.
The USB charging port of the Charon MINI supports dual-battery balanced charging. So, what is balanced charging, and what are its benefits? Balanced charging refers to charging that balances the characteristics of the batteries, meaning that during the use of the batteries, due to individual differences and temperature variations, there can be an imbalance in the terminal voltage of the batteries.
Balanced charging allows the two 18650 batteries in series to achieve relative balance, preventing one from overcharging while the other remains undercharged. Using balanced charging can extend the lifespan of the 18650 batteries and improve endurance. Most importantly, it prevents issues such as overheating or even explosion due to overcharging, as safety is paramount.
The Charon MINI is equipped with a new Ant225 chip, which significantly enhances performance compared to the Ant218 chip used in Cylon. Its maximum supported power has surged to 225W, and according to official information, its firing speed has also become sharper, reaching a millisecond level (0.015S). The above image clearly shows that the Charon MINI's high burst capability allows the vapor to rise instantly. Additionally, the display is clearer, resembling that of a smartphone.
In terms of the UI interface, although the Charon MINI, like Cylon, features a dual UI display, it has been optimized significantly. For example, a dynamic gear effect has been added to the bottom right corner of the luxury car dashboard-style UI.
The clock interface has replaced the original electronic dashboard with a mechanical watch style, and interestingly, the display effect in the upper right corner changes between the sun and moon according to the time of day.
Regarding the power on/off and system settings of the Charon MINI, it is actually the same as Cylon's usage method: quickly press the fire button five times to turn it on/off, and it powers on quickly; press the fire button three times to enter the main menu; press the fire button to confirm; simultaneously pressing the fire button and the - button returns to the previous menu; pressing the + and - buttons locks the screen. For specific menu setting methods, please refer to the manual (the manual provides very detailed instructions on the relevant operational steps).
Like Cylon, it also supports switching between nine wallpapers, and the wallpapers available in the Charon MINI's system feel more high-definition and fashionable.
