VOOPOO NEWBIE 80W Single-Battery Mod Review

 　　The VOOPOO NEWBIE 80W mod is packaged in a paper box measuring 122mm*91mm*45mm. It features a red and black color scheme similar to the DRAG mod packaging, with the company name and product name printed in gold and silver on the black box lid; the bottom of the red box displays the product name, warning messages, warning labels, and an anti-counterfeiting sticker.

  　　Inside the box, you will find one NEWBIE 80W mod, a USB data cable, an English instruction manual, a warranty card, and a GENE chip certification card.   　　Azheng: Enough with the small talk, I want the details, let’s get to the mod!   　　Luoling: …Hold your horses, I really can’t tell if you’re impatient or not.   　　The NEWBIE 80W mod measures 88mm in height, 38mm in width, and has a maximum thickness of 25mm, weighing 114g. It is made of zinc alloy with a painted surface. The mod has protrusions on both the top and bottom, giving it an S-shaped appearance from the side.   　　The top of the mod features a 510 connector, which is connected to the mod with two internal hex screws for easy disassembly, maintenance, and replacement. The connector has six grooves on top for decorative purposes and to prevent the atomizer from getting stuck. The internal electrode of the 510 connector is gold-plated, providing a large contact area, with a relatively hard spring and moderate travel. This is a significant improvement compared to the DRAG box.   　　Four ventilation holes are located at the bottom of the mod, designed with grooves, allowing for some heat dissipation even when the mod is placed upright.   　　The function buttons are located on one side of the mod, recessed to reduce the chances of accidental presses during daily use. Onboard curve adjustment, easy for users to customize and upgrade     　　As for chip protection, it includes all necessary protections such as battery reverse polarity, timeout, motherboard overheating, over-discharge, short circuit, etc. Additionally, the chip has three-proof functions: moisture-proof, water-proof, and corrosion-proof.   　　The operation method of the NEWBIE 80W mod is the same as that of the DRAG 157W mod: press the fire button five times to turn it on/off; press the fire button three times to switch output modes; press the up and down buttons simultaneously to enter the menu mode; in custom five-mode, press the fire button four times to enter the output curve adjustment mode; in temperature control mode, press the fire button four times to enter the temperature control output power adjustment; fire button + up button locks the buttons; fire button + down button adjusts the display direction.   　　Speaking of which, I’m getting a bit parched, just as I was about to take a big sip from my water cup, I noticed Azheng looking at me with longing, as if he wanted to say something, so I quickly put down my cup and continued speaking before he could open his mouth.   　　The overall size of the NEWBIE 80W mod fits well in the hands of Asian users, providing a good grip for both left-handed and right-handed users, thanks to its S-shaped design and unique fire button placement. When you hold the mod, you naturally grip it with your thumb, middle finger, ring finger, and pinky, using the second joint of your index finger to press the fire button.   　　As for the mod's performance, those familiar with the Gene.Fun chip or the DRAG 157W mod will know what to expect. Although the NEWBIE 80W mod's firing and heating speed is slightly slower than that of the DRAG 157W mod, it is still much faster than many other single-battery mods, even faster than some dual-battery mods. Faster firing and heating speeds mean an increase in effective puffs, especially when using fancy coils, combined with support for 0.05Ω ultra-low resistance and automatic power compensation, allowing users to enjoy a stable vaping experience while using a single-battery mod with more data options. Additionally, the current resistance automatically matches the output power, relieving careless users from the hassle of forgetting to lower the output power and burning the coil.   　　As for whether the mod's output power is sufficient and the temperature control accuracy, I won’t elaborate further.
