PETA Joins the Vaping Industry Against New FDA E-Cigarette Rules

PETAi.e.People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, short for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, an organization that protects the humane treatment of animals, and is now siding with the e-cigarette industry against the FDA(U.S. Food and Drug Administration) new regulations on e-cigarettes, and have even expressed strong condemnation.
PETAsaid that the government wastes more than a year's worth of taxpayer money each year on animal testing, and that mice and monkeys suffer from a wide range of drugs for long periods of time as test subjects for animal experiments. NowFDAThe regulations may further require e-cigarette companies to step up testing of the safety features of their e-cigarette products, which could mean an extension of animal cruelty. PETAhas always believed in humane treatment of animals,FDAyet encourages e-cigarette companies and tobacco manufacturing centers to experiment on animals &ldquo. appropriate” testing of e-cigarette products to meet FDARequirements for safety performance.
“CTPhopefully, the manufacturer will apply for animal testing before marketing. ” Joseph, a senior research associate, told PETA. According to the report, “the FDA says chemicals used in e-cigarette devices and vapor cigarettes are required to be tested to prevent misleading claims by tobacco product manufacturers to evaluate tobacco product ingredients and how they are made in order to communicate their potential risks. ”
E-cigarettes are not tobacco products, they are just nicotine delivery systems. Are they nicotine tobacco products? The answer is of course NO. E-cigarettes do not burn, do not produce secondhand smoke, and are an excellent alternative to smoking, about which the FDA#p#Page Break #e#completely ignored and treated with even greater severity by some PETAResearchers say this runs counter to “security”.
