When e-cigarettes first appeared, everyone was pursuing a smoking experience similar to that of traditional cigarettes. As e-cigarettes have developed, many products have been launched, mainly divided into two categories: large vapor and flavor-focused. Recently, pod systems have gained significant attention and popularity, indicating that many vapers are leaning towards flavor, which is the essence of e-cigarettes.
ADVKEN has brought us the Manta MTL RTA, designed for flavor enthusiasts.
The atomizer has a diameter of 24mm and features a top-fill system with two large fill ports. The bottom airflow system remains the same as before but offers greater resistance, making it suitable for flavor vaping and mouth-to-lung use.
With a classic dual-chamber design, it offers two capacities and two experiences, featuring an ultra-thick heat-resistant drip tip to prevent burns during hot summer days. Available in five colors: blue, silver, black, gold, and rainbow to satisfy your color preferences!
Since the MANTA MTL RTA is a mouth-to-lung atomizer, the drip tip must be small and the airflow holes must also be small to achieve mouth-to-lung vaping. As shown in the image, the MANTA MTL RTA's drip tip is relatively slender, typical of a 510 drip tip, and the PEI material provides good heat resistance. Although the inner wall of the drip tip is not treated to reduce condensation, the direct design does not present significant condensation issues. However, when using low-resistance coils, prolonged rapid draws may cause the atomizer and drip tip to heat up, as heat accumulates more quickly in smaller vapor spaces, so it is recommended to use high-resistance coils.
The MANTA MTL RTA features a top-fill system with two large fill ports. For players who often shake, this is a breath of fresh air. Even when using a twist cap dropper, it won't cause side leaks due to fast filling, and when closing the top cap, it is not easy to squeeze e-liquid out at the seams. The filling experience is simply delightful!
When using the standard glass tank, the maximum capacity is 2ml, which is sufficient for most players for half a day (those who take continuous puffs, please ignore this). After replacing with the included bubble tank, the e-liquid capacity can reach 3ml, allowing me to use it for a whole day (MANTA MTL RTA when going out, and Manta RTA at home). I must commend ADVKEN for their craftsmanship; the glass tank is highly transparent, and the edges are perfectly finished without any burrs.
The MANTA MTL RTA's base features a typical single-coil design, with two semi-open wicking holes that simplify the wicking process, and the top locking of the wire is also very easy, making it beginner-friendly. The holes support both regular and fancy wires, allowing the MANTA MTL RTA to perform well in both flavor and vapor production.
The airflow is designed to convert bottom airflow into side airflow, with staggered airflow holes that cover the entire heating coil section, providing direct airflow to the heating wire without dead spots, resulting in excellent vapor flavor while effectively controlling the atomizer's heat issue. It is recommended to keep the airflow half open for an excellent flavor experience; I continuously vaped half a tank of e-liquid, and the atomizer only slightly heated up.
In actual use, I found that with the airflow fully open, the draw resistance is relatively low, making it suitable for direct lung hits, but personally, I feel the flavor is a bit lacking; when only a small airflow hole is left open, mouth-to-lung vaping is very comfortable. However, when the airflow is fully closed, the draw resistance becomes very high, and prolonged draws can easily lead to fatigue, especially when using high-nicotine e-liquids, which can be harsh on the throat, so I do not recommend this.
From the airflow holes on the two electrode posts, it can be seen that the MANTA MTL RTA features a side airflow structure. Experience tells me that in terms of flavor intensity, it does not perform as well as bottom airflow designs because the airflow conversion rate to vaporization is not as high as that of bottom airflow designs. Therefore, when building coils, it is necessary to use larger diameter coils to bring the coils closer to the airflow holes to enhance vaporization efficiency. Of course, doing so can also compress the vaporization space to enhance flavor. Given the span between the two electrode posts, it is recommended to use wire with a diameter of 3.0/4.0.
I must complain about the electrode posts; when installing the heating wire, it is easy for the wire to "shift," especially for novice users. When using regular wire, make sure the electrode screws just press down on the wire before slowly tightening the screws; otherwise, the wire may slide, leading to poor contact. Here’s a suggestion for ADVKEN: create a groove on the wire platform just below the electrode screws to better secure the heating wire.

After trying several sets of regular wire data, I am personally satisfied with the flavor produced using 26G NI80 wire, with a diameter of 3.0 and 0.75Ω. The MANTA MTL RTA can accurately reproduce the main flavor of Alishan jasmine green tea (my daily go-to), especially when the airflow holes are minimized and using mouth-to-lung technique, the flavor produced is quite intriguing.
Overall, the ADVKEN MANTA MTL RTA has a similar appearance to the Manta RTA. The bottom airflow system remains the same as before, but with greater resistance, making it more suitable for flavor vaping and mouth-to-lung use. The flavor reproduction is excellent, and it is recommended to pair it with low-nicotine salt e-liquids or tobacco-flavored e-liquids, which will slightly enhance the sweetness of tobacco e-liquids. It is recommended to keep the resistance between 0.5-1.0 and the wattage between 14-28 watts.
Considering the previous price of the Manta RTA, the Manta MTL RTA is sure to be a favorite among flavor enthusiasts. It has a nice appearance, decent capacity, easy filling, and a single-coil configuration, making it another potential star product for ADVKEN.
