Panda RDA Review

The Panda RDA was co-developed by 17vape and Maiweipu, with a design centered around a middle-mounted coil to improve heating efficiency and enable near-instant dripping performance. Its simple operation and beginner-friendly build have also become major

The Panda RDA was developed in collaboration between 17vape's Yao and Maiweipu, with the original design aimed at a centrally positioned heating wire to improve heating efficiency, achieving the realm of instant dripping. It is simple to operate and easy to use, making it a major selling point of the PANDA series. Today, the star of the article, the PANDA RDA, has finally arrived, providing DIY enthusiasts with a new choice in devices.
【Packaging】 The package includes an accessory bag, the atomizer itself, and a bilingual manual. The accessory bag does not include a screwdriver or heating wire, only two electrode post screws and two rubber rings. Although the atomizer does not come with heating wire, the manual suggests using 28awg-32awg Ni80 wire.
The accessory bag contains 4 rubber rings and 2 cross screws. It feels a bit stingy; there are no spare rubber rings for the drip tip, and it would be better to include a couple more cross screws. I hope they will offer accessory packs for separate purchase in the future.
【Drip Tip】 This drip tip is worth mentioning; it consists of two parts, with the outer layer being stainless steel and the inner part being metal, featuring a metal ring exposed where it contacts the chamber cover, which is very aesthetically pleasing.
The inside of the drip tip is designed with anti-condensation hooks, which is a thoughtful design for user experience, providing good heat insulation and preventing burns. At the same time, the anti-condensation design is effective, as no condensation liquid has entered the mouth.
Overall, it has a tapered shape that not only concentrates the vapor but also provides a great feel on the lips. I can say this is the most comfortable drip tip I have ever used.Panda RDA Review 【Outer Chamber】 The outer chamber of the Panda RDA uses a plating process, with the atomizer name engraved on the top and symmetrical cuts on the sides that give the atomizer a textured look, enhancing its aesthetics and increasing friction, making it easier to pull off the outer chamber.
【Base】 The base is 24mm. The entire base is gold-plated, featuring embossed text that feels a bit rough. The cross electrode screws are short, but I tested it with a mechanical mod and had no issues. The base is the essence of the Panda, fully gold-plated, shining brightly.
The base features bottom airflow with four posts and four holes, with the wire posts arranged on either side. The locking screws are cross screws, so those with hex screw phobia need not worry. The centrally positioned airflow holes are oval-shaped, which helps to center the two heating wire coils while controlling the appropriate draw resistance. The oil reservoir in the base is quite deep, providing ample space for cotton placement, no further words needed.
With 4 posts and 4 holes, the wire holes are angled down at 30°, making threading very convenient. As someone who has struggled with this, I finally found relief; just insert and tighten, and it's done. However, since it's at an angle, you need to apply a bit more force when tightening to clamp the heating wire securely. Compared to the design with four parallel electrode posts, the dual-row design makes it easier to fix the heating wire without worrying too much about excess wire angles.Panda RDA Review Panda RDA Review 【Suction Experience】 The tapered drip tip of the Panda RDA feels very comfortable in the mouth. Pressing the fire button, the dual central coils instantly deliver a powerful hit, combined with the bottom direct airflow, producing rich and concentrated vapor.
For my first build, I used a single A1 wire, 22ga, with a 3.0mm diameter and 6 wraps. The resistance was 0.15. I set the power to 60-70W with full airflow. After trying several e-liquids, the most intuitive feeling was that the flavor was well-reproduced and clear. The vapor production was also good. Surprisingly, with full airflow, it did not feel empty, which I did not expect.
For my second build, I used a dual-core Clapton wire, as shown in the picture, with a resistance of around 0.16. I set the power to 70-80W with full airflow. The flavor intensity improved significantly, and vapor production increased noticeably, with the e-liquid flavor still well-reproduced, although the clarity was not as good as with the single wire, which is normal since the intensity increased.
However, if the cotton is packed too tightly, I recommend not taking long, deep hits continuously, as the two central coils can consume e-liquid very quickly, potentially exceeding the cotton's ability to wick and resulting in a burnt taste, even though there is still e-liquid in the cotton.
The overall craftsmanship of the base feels a bit rough; after gold plating, it should have appeared more upscale, giving a very refined feeling, but it did not give me that impression.
Additionally, there are small flaws on the outer chamber, with burrs around the wire holes. Although these do not affect normal use, resolving these small issues would greatly enhance the user experience.
Regarding airflow, when closing it to 1/5, there is a significant airflow noise. I suspect this may be due to the airflow port's chamfer or that at a certain degree of closure, the airflow port does not seal tightly against the base. This is just my personal speculation; it would require an expert to explain further.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the use; the design is distinctive, aesthetically pleasing, easy to build, and the flavor brought by the centrally positioned heating wire with bottom direct airflow is excellent. It leans more towards flavor than vapor production, which is my preference. With the PANDA RDA, I no longer have a need for dual-coil dripping.
Previous review articles on the Panda RDA can also serve as a reference:
#p#Pagination Title#e#Panda Dripping Atomizer Review
