On September 9, the joint law enforcement team for smoking control inspected nearly 20 administrative units and 12 dining establishments, including the Anning District Government, the Government Affairs Hall, the Government Conference Center, and the National Tax Bureau.

In public office spaces, the vast majority of units take smoking control seriously, having established good management systems, with smoking control signs posted densely and in accordance with regulations. Most meeting rooms have non-smoking table signs, and no smoking devices, cigarette butts, or smokers were found. The staff of each unit is well aware of the regulations, and the overall work is commendable. Notably, the smoking control efforts at the Anning District Government office building and the National Tax Bureau are quite effective, with prominent non-smoking signs posted at the entrance of the building, and non-smoking guides present on every floor wearing standard non-smoking guide armbands. However, there are a few individual offices that still have a smell of smoke and cigarette butts. For example, the Anning District Traffic Police Brigade had few non-smoking signs, and a small number of cigarette butts were found in the hallway, with some offices having a smell of smoke. The smoking control law enforcement personnel conducted smoking control publicity and distributed new standard non-smoking signs, requiring immediate rectification.

In dining establishments, inspections of 12 dining venues in large hotels and popular dining spots on Jinniu Street in Anning District found no illegal smoking occurrences. Each establishment had non-smoking signs posted, and both management and service staff were well aware of the smoking control regulations in Lanzhou City. Only the Goubuli Anning store located on Donglu Road violated regulations by setting up a smoking area in the restroom. In response to this issue, law enforcement personnel have ordered rectification and revoked the smoking area on-site under supervision.

Chen Jun, deputy director of the Lanzhou City Smoking Control Office, stated that in the next phase, all counties and districts, along with law enforcement departments, will conduct self-inspections and recheck the units that were ordered to rectify during this round of inspections.
