MASARU V2 Vape Kit Review

  The charm of finished kits lies in their elegant overall appearance and ease of use. Since the surge of the low-resistance sub-ohm trend that began in 2017, aside from established brands like ASPIRE and SMOK regularly releasing new products, many niche brands have seen stagnation in their finished devices. The manufacturer only provides one pre-installed atomizer; if a novice mistakenly uses it and causes a dry burn (though the manual warns against this), they will need to purchase additional atomizers to continue using it. It would be beneficial to include an extra atomizer at minimal cost...

  　　The main body features a brushed electroplated finish, with the only button being the ignition button, which is a colored dot on the device. The biggest advantage of MASARU is its compact size and simple operation, although newcomers to e-cigarettes may find it challenging to start. The included manual is very detailed, including illustrations for refilling and clear parameters for the device.

  　　In addition to the overall aesthetic appeal, the MASARU's design lines appear very sleek, avoiding a bulky or heavy feel. The atomizer section has two triangular windows to observe the remaining e-liquid, and the ignition button's reverse side features the USB charging port, while the other two are the airflow inlets for the atomizer. Users should be careful not to cover the air inlets with their fingers during use, as this could affect airflow.

  　　Below the orange ring is an LED light that flashes in response to various conditions such as pressing the ignition button, the device not being connected to the atomizer, short circuits, or low battery. For more details, please refer to the manual. The airflow inlets located on either side of the ignition button are designed for fixed airflow, and the specific usage effects will be discussed later in the article.

  　　The atomizer structure is relatively simple, with the base of the atomizer integrated with the main body, and the atomizer core connected through the top cap, which clamps the middle glass tank (the triangular part is merely a protective metal frame). This simple design eliminates complicated operations for novices, making maintenance more convenient and understandable.

  　　However, users should pay attention to the relationship between the atomizer core and the top cap and main body. If the atomizer core is not tightened enough during assembly, it may rotate when the top cap is opened for refilling, leading to potential leakage. If the threads connecting the atomizer core to the base and top cap could be designed to be opposite, this issue could be easily resolved.

  　　At the bottom of the main body, a large electrode is visible, achieving stable conductivity. Although the design of shared components between the atomizer and main body helps reduce size and simplify structure, the drawbacks of this design are also evident. As mentioned earlier, improper handling of the atomizer core can lead to e-liquid leakage at the electrode position shown in the image above. Furthermore, when there is still e-liquid in the atomizer, it is challenging to replace the core without spillage.

  　　The ease of use of the MASARU is undeniable. When using it for the first time, it is recommended to pre-soak the atomizer core cotton, ensure that the atomizer core is securely connected to the base, and then attach the glass tank. After filling it with e-liquid through the gap, tighten the top cap and let it sit for a moment before use. The single ignition button on the main body requires a standard five presses to turn on/off, and while in standby mode, pressing the ignition button will activate it.

  　　The atomizer core has no data markings around it, making it impossible to determine the resistance. During the experience, it can be felt that although the MASARU's airflow is non-adjustable, the heating speed and vapor density of the atomizer core match well with the airflow, resulting in no empty or light performance. This is a device suitable for mouth-to-lung vaping rather than direct lung inhalation, and the flavor and vapor production of this core are surprisingly balanced.

  　　In addition to the continuous updates in the DIY category of various RBAs, the good vaping experience brought by technological advancements continues to refresh expectations. Recently, the surge of low-output pod devices and the resurgence of finished devices demonstrate that the electronic cigarette industry is far from the so-called "cooling period"; instead, through the emergence of these devices, we see the return to the original intention of e-cigarettes—simplicity, ease of use, and health.
