Hello everyone, we meet again. This time we will review the SMOP pod device from the same manufacturer as MT. I have the black carbon fiber version in hand. There is also a blue carbon fiber version, which has a glossy surface and looks great. Now let's talk about the user experience.
Included are 1 charging cable and 1 instruction manual (unfortunately, it is entirely in English without a Chinese version). The entire device along with the pod is particularly small, resembling a car key. It is also very light, with a slight weight that feels comfortable in hand. You can play with it to relieve stress when bored.
The air intake slots on both sides connect. The pod uses a magnetic connection similar to MT, with an air switch corresponding to the intake hole at the bottom of the pod.
The device follows the traditional electronic cigarette style of pressing the button five times to turn it on and off. The benefit is to avoid automatic heating due to special circumstances. The pod has a capacity of 1.8ml, and the entire pod is made of plastic except for the electrode and atomization core, resembling a black semi-transparent matte finish, which is very light; the atomization core is made of ceramic. The base connecting to the atomizer has a plastic oil guide piece (with many oil guide holes of various sizes) that is covered with a cotton-like material for oil guiding. The oil conduction speed is very fast. The battery capacity has been optimized compared to MT, significantly increasing the usage time.
Out of respect for the manufacturer and players, I purchased all flavors (1.8 and 5.0 nicotine content) for taste testing. 【Summer Mint】: It tastes a bit like the sweet sand melon from the north, accompanied by a slightly cool sensation, as if taken out of the refrigerator in summer. The vapor is smooth. 【Mint】: A very light fresh mint leaf flavor, similar to just-picked mint leaves in the mouth, with a slight bitterness and a cooling throat hit that I really enjoy (highly recommended). 【Original Tobacco】: It resembles the taste of Native American tobacco. The throat hit is strong, the vapor is smooth, slightly spicy, and fragrant. 【Mixed Fruit Flavor】: Personally, I think it tastes like mixed fruit candy, reminiscent of the old Swiss candy flavor. It's quite good. 【Mango】: It tastes a bit like green mango and a bit like mango flesh. I might be less sensitive to this flavor due to having vaped too much mango oil before. If you're curious, you can purchase and try it yourself. The original device comes with a tobacco pod that should be 18mg. The throat hit is moderate, similar to that of 6-8mg tobacco cigarettes.
The draw resistance is slightly airy compared to other pod products on the market (due to the slightly larger air intake), and slightly tighter compared to light lung-draw products, but the flavor performance is quite full, with no "air sucking" feeling. If you find the airflow too airy, you can wrap a thin layer of tissue around the pod to significantly improve the draw resistance. The entire pod performs well, with no oil leakage issues. There may be small condensation droplets near the air switch, but they are negligible. The new version of the tobacco flavor pod has air slots opened on both sides, which often fails to trigger the air switch, and I hope the manufacturer can revert to the previous design.
To summarize: strong battery life, no oil leakage, no overheating, minimal condensation, slightly airy draw resistance, and the pod's mouthpiece design fits comfortably with the lips. The new version of the tobacco pod has difficulty triggering the air switch due to the shell change. Overall, it is a very successful pod device, but there is still room for improvement, and I look forward to the next more perfect product.
