SMOK V-FIN Kit Review

  I received the SMOK all-in-one V-FIN kit, and it feels very familiar, just like my greasy big machine.

    The term "all-in-one" has probably been the hottest buzzword this year, from "economic integration" to "global integration" to "community of shared future for mankind". These buzzwords all highlight the importance and sustainability of integration. In the vaping industry, there have also been many all-in-one devices recently, including all-in-one pod systems, all-in-one sticks, and now an all-in-one mod with built-in battery and atomizer—SMOK V-FIN. Today, let's talk about what this all-in-one "big guy" can bring us.

    First, let’s get to know "Shenzhen IVPS Technology Co., Ltd.", abbreviated as "SMOK". This is a high-tech electronic cigarette device design and manufacturing company rooted in China, expanding its business globally. With its excellent chip-level design, unique appearance, superior product quality control, and thoughtful after-sales service, it has long occupied a significant position in the vaping industry.

    Now, let’s take a look at the freshly launched "SMOK V-FIN" through my understanding of the device.

      This SMOK "V-FIN" continues SMOK's consistent packaging style, with plastic sealing that ensures moisture resistance and safe transport. Upon opening the plastic seal, the sleeve packaging design remains unchanged, featuring a striking and vibrant promotional image on the front, with the purple "V" shape harmoniously embedded in the mod. It uses SMOK's traditional side-press fire switch, and the purple TFV12 BIG BABY PRINCE atomizer is organically combined with the mod, creating a harmonious and aesthetically pleasing look.

    The side of the packaging includes the production location, factory address, contact information, and official website, with all relevant information provided. The other side features a QR code for SMOK's official account.

    The back also follows the original design, introducing the design concept of this mod, as well as detailing the contents and various precautions. Especially in the introduction of the design concept, we can learn a lot about this machine.

    Pulling the mod box out of the outer packaging, the box itself is also a signature feature of SMOK. Every time I open a SMOK product, there is a strong sense of ceremony.

    Opening the lid, the actual mod looks larger than in the photos. The "V" shape design extends from the top of the mod down to the bottom, connecting through the lower part of the fire button and the other side's "V". The entire design is simple yet beautiful, with the SMOK label, product name, power, and temperature control indicators located at the bottom of the mod. The side fire switch is as shown in the picture, following SMOK's traditional firing method.

    The USB charging port is located at the top of the mod, which is a very thoughtful design. When charging the mod's battery, it can be charged upright, avoiding the risk of e-liquid leaking from the atomizer. Additionally, next to the USB charging port, there is a small hole for resetting the mod when the battery is inaccurately displayed.

    The entire top of the mod connects to the atomizer interface and features a small display screen along with + and - buttons.

      The interface uses SMOK's standard 510 connection, with a gold-plated electrode that has good elasticity, allowing it to adapt to most atomizers on the market.

    The high-resolution display screen features the same interface as SMOK's "irregular" models, showing power, resistance, voltage, current, mode, battery level, puff count, and mod temperature. All information is clear and detailed, allowing users to easily understand various data. The height of the screen is about 1mm higher than the atomizer interface, effectively isolating any condensation from the screen.

    Below the screen are the + and - adjustment buttons, which have a strong rebound and feel very good to press, with quick adjustments.

    The bottom of the mod has a total of 10 ventilation holes, effectively providing heat dissipation and pressure relief. The dual-sloped design prevents the ventilation holes from contacting the surface it is placed on, avoiding blockage, and there is a layer of dust cloth in the ventilation holes to effectively prevent dust from entering.

    Lifting the top layer of foam inside the box, the fabric strap is also a thoughtful design from SMOK. After pulling it, the manual, certificate of conformity, Prince atomizer, charging cable, spare pod, a complete atomizer core, and spare rubber rings are all included.

    As the recently launched Prince atomizer from SMOK, it has gained popularity among vaping enthusiasts after being compatible with many mods. Its combination of flavor and vapor production, along with its cool appearance, has been widely recognized, so I won't elaborate further on that. Today, we will mainly focus on understanding SMOK's mod with a built-in battery.

    #p#分页标题#e#Smell     The SMOK "V-FIN" has shown impressive performance during my nearly month-long use. The built-in 8000mAh battery capacity allows me to use it as my main device, and when the power is set to 70-80W, it lasts for 4-5 days. The maximum power of 160W can effectively accommodate almost all 510 interface products or DIY atomizers on the market, with stable power output and consistent current and voltage. The mod's various adjustments are convenient and offer more autonomy, but I have also discovered some issues during use.

    The top display screen is almost identical to all previous SMOK devices with top displays. Condensation from the atomizer easily accumulates on the display screen, requiring me to wipe it with my hand or a napkin each time I want to check the data.     The paint on the bottom of the mod has shown some signs of wear during my use.

    When the battery level shows close to 50%, the drop in battery percentage is very rapid, and after a few puffs, it will run out of power and shut down.     Although the USB charging port is designed quite humanely, due to the large battery capacity, using a 5V/1A charger takes a long time to charge. Generally, it takes over 5 hours to fully charge the battery. This may also be related to my use of a 1A charger, but I did not find any charging requirements in the manual, so I adopted a more conservative charging method. Perhaps a higher current charger could shorten this charging time.

    The overall feel of the mod is very comfortable. Due to the size of the battery, the mod is slightly bulky, making it more comfortable for male users compared to female users, as women's hands tend to be smaller. The fire button has a strong rebound, and when pressing the fire button with the thumb, it can almost be activated near the base of the button, which is an improvement compared to some previous SMOK devices.

   Questions     Today, I want to discuss SMOK's temperature control mode, which I am currently quite fascinated by. Compared to some smaller manufacturers' temperature control settings, SMOK's temperature control is relatively convenient and practical. However, if we consider advanced users, I feel it is still lacking. SMOK's temperature control allows for adjusting the TCR value of the heating wire, but it does not allow for manually adjusting the resistance of the heating wire. Each time, I need to screw the atomizer a few more times to measure what I believe is the correct resistance. I feel that this aspect is not sufficient compared to SMOK's power control, and I hope the manufacturer can improve the temperature control performance, as SMOK uses self-developed chips that support excellent domestic chips, which has been a hot topic in recent news.

    This mod continues SMOK's consistent craftsmanship and unique design features, putting considerable effort into considering user habits and convenience, adapting to the overall market development. Of course, if it can further enhance battery performance in the future, this mod will have an even brighter market prospect.
