BLACK WIDOW RTA Review: The designs of atomizers available on the market generally adjust airflow size to change the draw resistance, thereby regulating the airflow size to the heating coil. This method has been widely used until now. Today, I will share a BLACK WIDOW RTA that differs from the traditional "airflow adjustment principle"; it is designed to only adjust the intake size.
The BLACK WIDOW RTA is designed and developed by MOVE VAPE. The airflow adjustment actually moves the integrated component originally located in front of the coil to the back of the coil; the former changes the amount of airflow entering, while the latter changes the amount of airflow exiting, keeping the intake fully open.
The atomizer uses a rose gold-plated stainless steel process, with a diameter of 25.6MM and a height of 51.5MM, making it a standard large RTA. However, it only has a 3.8ML e-liquid capacity, mainly because a lot of space in the atomizer is occupied by structural components. The materials shown in the image above are the factory configuration list for this RTA.
The manufacturer provides an 810 drip tip adapter, which, like the original non-standard size drip tip, serves as a component for adjusting mixed airflow (visible in the groove valve at the connection). Unfortunately, this engineering sample's 810 adapter is missing a sealing silicone ring, making it impossible to use with your own 810 drip tip.
The bottom of the atomizer has six round direct airflow holes and does not support airflow adjustment, meaning that regardless of how much the top airflow adjustment is set, the bottom airflow holes remain fully open, making this a definite lung-hit oriented atomizer.
The airflow adjustment structure is concentrated at the top of the atomizer, where you can clearly see the "airflow exchange chamber" structure provided by this design:
Under the drip tip, there is a smoke shield setting; when the drip tip is removed, you can see two small air holes on the side, and when the drip tip's airflow is opened, it directly mixes the smoke as it passes through this barrier;
When the drip tip's airflow is closed, the entire smoke path is longer than that of a typical atomizer, which is a design commonly seen in "cold smoke" structures;
Opening the top cap reveals the entire airflow adjustment chamber, where the smoke first travels through the middle channel before reaching the upper barrier area;
The amount of smoke entering the airflow chamber is controlled by this valve, which is adjusted by rotating the top cap.
The filling hole is designed with a squeeze seal; when the filling bottle is aligned with the filling hole and squeezed, the component on the side of the e-liquid tank will automatically open, and after filling, the spring will return this component to its original position, ensuring the airtightness of the e-liquid tank;
The top cap has left and right rotation markings, with three vertical bar measurement markings in the middle, but there are no corresponding reference position markings on the atomizer;
The top cap is a non-threaded twist-lock design, although it is secured by a sealing ring, it has good tightness;
There is a pressure relief hole in the smoke channel, which will be sealed by the component when the top cap is in place (refer to the red component in the previous image). Once the atomizer is combined with the base, the six large oil guide holes between the petal-shaped atomizer cover and the base ensure a very fast oil guiding speed.
The electrode platform is based on the common top-down oil guiding method, with a native single coil structure, making it easy to work with. The airflow holes are located on the inner side of the electrode post, and the long and large airflow holes are specifically designed to accommodate high-heat clapton coils, with the locking holes penetrating at a 45-degree angle for easy wire insertion.
The manufacturer provides two Clapton coils, with a 3.0mm diameter, and the recommended power is 35-45W. After installing the coil, you can see that the distance between the coil and the electrode post is just right, suggesting that 3.0mm is the upper limit for this atomizer's coil diameter; however, whether it can support diameters of 2.5mm and below remains to be seen...#p#分页标题#e#
Although this top-down oil guiding method makes cotton installation very simple, due to the large cotton hole, the amount of cotton required at the 3.0mm coil diameter limit needs to be sufficient; if the cotton legs are slightly thinned, it can easily lead to leaking. Therefore, it is not recommended for beginners to use coils below 3.0mm in this electrode platform.
Regarding the flavor experience of this BLACK WIDOW RTA, the following points summarize it:
1. The smoke produced by clapton coils is generally warmer, and this atomizer will noticeably cool it down;
2. When the drip tip's airflow is opened, this cooling effect reaches its peak, although the flavor may be slightly diluted at this time;
3. When the airflow is fully open, the draw resistance is moderate, and there is no feeling of emptiness;
4. During the process of closing the airflow, the draw resistance noticeably tightens, but the atomizer's cooling speed also slows down;
5. Through the single clapton coil, this atomizer has good flavor reproduction capabilities.
