This is a dripping atomizer from FumyTech, the brand known as 菲美特. FumyTech is also an e-cigarette brand that originated from a group of professional players, particularly rich in product lines in the atomizer field, ranging from the initial mouth-to-lung devices to RDA, RTA, RDTA, and finished products, among which the most well-known might be last year's Dragon Ball RTA and Rose MTL.
This atomizer is named Ballon RDA (the English name for the Golden Ball Award is Ballon), and combined with the official promotional image featuring W.C.R CHAMPION 2018 ("World Cup", "Champion", 2018), I whimsically call it the "Golden Ball" dripping atomizer. As another spherical atomizer following the Dragon Ball, its launch coincides with the World Cup, which shows the manufacturer's clever marketing strategy.
Upon seeing its shape, if you are familiar with FumyTech's products, you can immediately associate it with the Dragon Ball atomizer.
Upon opening, you can see the internal accessories, which include a piece of cotton, various O-rings, a screwdriver, a bottom fill screw, and four pre-made coils.
The atomizer body typically consists of four main parts: the base, the chamber, the top cap, and the drip tip. Looking at the airflow structure design, it seems that spherical RDA atomizer chambers are rare. I have not studied aerodynamics, so I can only speculate about the airflow direction inside the chamber: the wide intake holes combined with the large spherical chamber can instantly accommodate a large amount of vapor, while the smoke outlet passage gradually narrows (here, a smooth arc replaces the usual dome), and due to the adoption of the recently popular U-shaped airflow holes, it has been proven that airflow wrapping around the heating wire expands the heat dissipation area and improves heat dissipation efficiency, making it particularly suitable for bottom fill structures where the liquid is injected from below. This series of factors ensures the richness of the vapor and flavor.
The Golden Ball atomizer does not differ much in overall shape from the Dragon Ball atomizer, but the visual differences are still apparent. The Golden Ball atomizer, named as an RDA, indicates that it is a dripping atomizer, so the chamber part is not transparent, and the football pattern and English prompts align perfectly with the World Cup theme.
After disassembly, the main components are shown in the above image, and the craftsmanship remains impeccable.
The 810 drip tip is made of PEI material, and it can be installed onto the chamber with the black connecting kit. During daily use, due to the large diameter of the drip tip, you can directly refill from the drip tip without needing to disassemble it.
Moving to the chamber part, although it appears to have a shiny finish on the outside, giving it an excellent texture that might make one think it is made of aluminum, the inner wall reveals that it is made of brass, and due to the brass material, the "weight" of this Golden Ball is also quite substantial.
The airflow is a conventional opposing airflow slot, and as seen in the above image, its adjustment ring can be disassembled; just pay attention to the slots on the base.
The electrode post design adopts a relatively popular split post style, with a large electrode deck making it very simple. The symmetrical structure of the upper wire deck is better explained with images than words; each post accommodates one coil, with a large distance between the positive and negative poles, allowing for compatibility with more specifications of coils. The locking screws are hexagonal, and I know some may complain about this. If using a bottom fill method, there is a protruding fill post at the bottom of the electrode deck, with symmetrical holes distributing the liquid supply to both sides.
From this angle, you can see that the bottom fill holes are set on either side of a raised post, which is designed to better guide the e-liquid evenly to both sides when dealing with deep juice wells in BF devices.
In terms of building coils, you just need to pay attention to the lead length, cotton length, and the distance between the two coils; it is not difficult at all.

In terms of usage, you first need to understand that this type of atomizer is designed for low-resistance coils and thicker wire gauges, typically using 3.0 or 3.5mm coil diameters. Fine wires and high resistance do not match well; this is basic knowledge about atomizers. Therefore, when used correctly, even though its internal space is quite spacious, the flavor produced is actually comparable to that of the 528/Kennedy types. Do not claim "poor flavor" just because you do not understand how to use it; that is merely a personal usage issue.
With continuous puffs, the spherical body heats up quickly, and if paired with high-wattage heating wires, it may burn your lips. The drip tip's heat insulation performance is acceptable, but it is inevitable that your lips will touch the chamber body, which is made of gold-plated brass.
According to the official introduction, this atomizer is recommended for top filling, of course, when not in bottom fill mode. Although it can be used with bottom fill devices and conventional box devices, it is ultimately recommended to use mechanical mods with it. After all, this atomizer's route is a personalized one, and pursuing aesthetics or flavor is not its primary goal.
