Axis Atomizer Review
Today, let's talk about RTA atomizers. Since the emergence of CP in 2017, various manufacturers have released their own RTA atomizers. With a simple structure, easy wicking, and good flavor with rich vapor, they have gained widespread approval. However, the current market for RTA atomizers has not seen significant breakthroughs in structure, mostly focusing on detailed improvements and aesthetic optimizations based on traditional designs. Let's take a look at what makes the Axis atomizer, with its stunning appearance, special.
First, the front of the packaging shows the main color of the atomizer; the printed color represents the color of the atomizer inside the box. The Axis comes in four colors: silver, gold, black, and rainbow. The back has detailed product descriptions, packaging lists, and product specifications, all in Chinese, which is quite rare and shows the manufacturer's attention to detail. The sides of the box feature QR codes, barcodes, and anti-counterfeiting codes.
Upon opening the white sleeve, the first thing that catches the eye is the common black top and bottom box. Continuing to unpack, the main attraction finally appears: a very flashy rainbow color, which I personally think is the most attractive among the four colors. The packaging includes the atomizer, a spare glass tank, a parts bag, a manual, and a cleaning cloth, which is quite rare as such items usually appear in phone screen protectors.
Upon careful observation, the angular cut of the top cover indeed enhances the overall aesthetics. The simple structure of RTA atomizers has gained recognition, and the Axis is no exception. It can be completely disassembled into five parts. The PEI material drip tip has excellent high-temperature resistance and heat insulation. It features the same top-fill and bottom-airflow structure, with the tightness of the bottom airflow adjustment ring being just right, significantly better than CP, whose adjustment ring is too tight. It has a single coil structure similar to CP, but its playability is much higher.
【Vaping Experience】
Initially, I used the included wire, which had a resistance of about 0.37 ohms. However, it experienced resistance jumping! Yes, jumping resistance! Although the fluctuation was not large, my OCD could not accept it... I vaped Tree of Life and Devil's Kiss; Tree of Life was rich and had a strong throat hit, while Devil's Kiss was so rich that it affected the acidity. Unable to tolerate the resistance jumping, I repeatedly disassembled the atomizer and tightened the screws, but the jumping resistance issue remained. When pressing the fire button, I could see the resistance increasing from 0.37 to 0.4 before stabilizing, and then it dropped back to the 0.3 range when I released the button.
The Axis performs well in e-liquid analysis; I personally think the airflow resistance is much better than CP, which feels relatively airy. Some users have reported that CP experiences wicking issues after prolonged use, leading to dry hits. I also tried continuous vaping with the Axis and did not experience any dry hits; the wicking was very smooth.
【Conclusion】
In terms of drawbacks:
1. The oval airflow inlet is quite wide, and insufficient wire width can easily cause airflow turbulence, affecting the vaping experience.
2. It is not very friendly to daily 6-wrap simple wire coils; larger wire builds are better. 3. The airflow adjustment ring has slightly low resistance, making it feel a bit loose.Overall, this atomizer is quite good. Although RTA atomizers generally have similar structures, the Axis has made significant improvements in some details. The small design for the wicking area reflects the designer's thoughtfulness, and its good aesthetics will surely attract appearance-focused users. It has optimized the shortcomings of many RTA atomizers on the market and incorporated its own design elements, which deserves praise.
