How to Use an RDTA Atomizer: Hands-On with the New CAVALRY RDTA

   Since the emergence of the suspended electrode platform structure of RTA, the RDTA, once hailed as the structure closest to RDA in flavor, has gradually faded from players' sight. With the rise of various new play styles such as BF bottom-fill boxes, it seems that the halo of RDTA has become difficult to regain, but this type of dripper and tank hybrid still makes many veteran players reluctant to part with it.<\/p>     COOLVAPOR is a group well-recognized among players, with products like LAVA RTA and ARTHUR RDA receiving high praise. Just when everyone was about to forget the RDTA structure, COOLVAPOR launched a new RDTA product, which indeed piqued the curiosity of many friends.     This RDTA, named CAVALRY, perfectly matches its name's character with shield lines and armor-like shapes. The packaging includes some spare seals, a glass tank, screws, and a pair of NI80 Clapton coils included with the atomizer.
 How to use RDTA atomizer With a diameter of 24MM, side airflow design, and a typical top-drip bottom-tank structure, RDTA is indeed a distinct type that is easy to differentiate from RTA. However, due to its unique structure, a good RDTA must meet several structural conditions:
    1. The upper "RDA" must be reasonably designed to create excellent flavor expression and vapor experience;
    2. The bottom tank's oil storage space must be reasonably sized; too large or too small will affect appearance and practicality;
    3. The refilling method needs to be convenient and reliable;
    Without discussing the user experience of the CAVALRY RDTA for now, just based on its appearance and the manufacturing standards of SXK, COOLVAPOR's product has sufficient persuasive power.
    The large diameter drip tip is non-replaceable, but the designer cleverly chose a threaded connection for the drip tip, which helps with airflow adjustment without spinning on its own. The dual-hole dual-post simple electrode has a small span, using a bottom-fill screw design (note the oil filling hole in the middle of the electrode post), indicating that the CAVALRY RDTA not only considers traditional top-drip use but also accommodates the currently popular bottom-fill play style.
    In general, even if this electrode screw is hollow, when the flat electrode is pressed tightly against the screw, it will naturally create a sealing effect. Additionally, many current devices have leak-proof designs, so there is no concern about leaking oil from this hole. However, if you consider yourself a perfectionist, inserting a toothpick as shown in the picture can easily satisfy your psychological needs.
    The two positioning clips of the outer tank cover cleverly serve as caps for the oil filling and vent holes, providing significant practical value, with sealing and anti-locking functions acting on both clips. The outer tank cover is also a typical plug-in design for RDTA, with very accurate processing precision. However, to protect the light blue sealing ring from damage, it is advisable to apply e-liquid for lubrication before use.
    For the unique structure of RDTA, the upper components are essentially an RDA. Looking back at some recently popular RDA products, the dual-post dual-hole design is quite common, indicating the high usability of this electrode structure. The electrode platform structure of CAVALRY RDTA is simple but reveals many details, such as the locking wire positioning of the electrode post, which will be detailed later in the article.
    If the bottom oil tank needs thorough cleaning, simply unscrewing the bottom electrode screw will allow for component disassembly; daily cleaning can be done with just water and does not require disassembly. The oil tank can hold about 3ML of e-liquid, and like the currently popular BF bottom-fill devices, it operates on the principle of bottom oil supply. The advantages of this bottom oil storage also manifest during the operation of the heating coil, minimizing the adverse effects of heat on the e-liquid, which is evident due to the structural advantages, but to perform excellently, it must be paired with a reasonable overall structure.
 How to use RDTA atomizer Based on the airflow volume of the atomizer itself and the vapor space, one can estimate the coil data. In fact, it is possible to discard some so-called fine wires and complex winding methods. The pair of Clapton coils provided by the manufacturer can serve as a reference for the experience of this RDTA. This type of wire has been recognized as a type that balances vapor and flavor. If using a single wire A1 coil, setting the coil resistance around 0.1-0.2 ohms can also yield a full vapor experience.
    The locking wire hole's design is very convenient for positioning the wire legs. For example, after locking this pair of dual parallel coils, all four wire legs are evenly pressed under the screws, ensuring stable resistance through neat manual work. The cotton operation does not require high skill levels; as long as the cotton legs are not too tight or too long, there will be no abnormal oil guiding issues.
    Coil installation does not adhere to any "absolute centering theory"; as long as one understands the relationship between airflow and coil position, it becomes clear that aimless centering is meaningless. The coil position should be adjusted relative to the airflow hole's position. For example, when using the CAVALRY RDTA in a non-full airflow state, positioning the coil slightly towards the actual airflow opening is much more reasonable than blindly centering it.
    If one purely disregards its oil storage structure, this is undoubtedly a large vapor-oriented RDA. Using the original pair of Clapton coils generates sufficient heat with just half-open airflow to meet the cooling needs. Its overall inhalation feel is smooth, and closing 50% of the airflow allows for a slight draw resistance, with the flavor noticeably richer than in the fully open state.
    Condensation is a very troublesome issue in RDTA structures. Many RDTA devices accumulate excessive condensation during use, causing obsessive-compulsive disorder due to condensation leaking from the tank cover seams or side airflow holes... or any e-cigarette atomizer has condensation; it only depends on whether it falls within an acceptable range, and CAVALRY RDTA belongs to the latter.
    This device does not use a dome-shaped PEI top cover, so there is no condensation entry phenomenon. The condensation accumulated after two tanks of e-liquid will flow back to the cotton area, as seen in the picture where dark, unpleasant condensation clings to the cotton (the e-liquid is actually colorless). In reality, whether the unavoidable condensation is acceptable depends on whether the structure considers allowing this condensation to flow back to the cotton area.
 #p#分页标题#e#How to use RDTA atomizer Regarding the flavor restoration of e-liquids, the CAVALRY RDTA does not exhibit any dominant flavor or inability to extract flavors; it can restore the expected flavors of any e-liquid you are familiar with. The vapor volume capability does not need emphasis; under this airflow volume, the data can handle a wide range, allowing for the use of low-resistance data for vapor spraying.
    The only drawback during use is also a pain point of RDTA; condensation will accumulate over time, and if not cleaned regularly, it will seep into the connection of this cover. Regularly using a paper towel for cleaning is sufficient; this is a structural common issue that is not serious.
    For products from player groups, there are often higher demands than those from ordinary manufacturers, especially for products designed by experienced players, which must have considerable "experienced structures" to be persuasive. Although the structural advantages of RDTA are evident, many designers have gradually faded from the development of this type due to structural limitations. COOLVAPOR reignited the spark of RDTA in an environment where everyone else is intoxicated, which is a very confident expression...
    In conclusion, in this era where new RDTA products are hard to find, the CAVALRY RDTA boasts a decent appearance, solid craftsmanship, and satisfactory flavor performance, along with effective condensation management. If you are a fan of COOLVAPOR or RDTA structures, you can confidently express your support for this product...
