Renova ZERO Review: With compact pod-style vaping devices dominating the market, one notable trend is that many users care a lot about whether a device uses a ceramic coil structure. This applies to both prefilled pod systems and refillable pod systems. So if ceramic coils are the core focus, Vaporesso is naturally one of the most convincing brands to discuss, since many of the ceramic coils commonly seen on the market come from this brand. The product we’re sharing today is the ZERO refillable compact vape, made by Renova, a new brand under Vaporesso.

The outer packaging has a separate Chinese label attached to the shrink wrap, corresponding to the English information printed on the box itself. After opening it, the package includes 1 ZERO device, 1 USB charging cable, 1 10ml refill bottle (empty, no e-liquid), as well as the user manual (with Chinese) and a certificate of conformity.

This product is currently available in black, red, white, silver, green, blue, orange, rainbow, and Tiffany blue. The main materials are zinc alloy (device body) and PGTC (pod). The silver version reviewed here uses the natural zinc alloy finish, with a brushed surface treatment. The excellent texture combined with the solid workmanship gives it a very premium feel. As for the other colors, their surfaces are finished with either baked paint or soft-touch paint. It also features a built-in Omni Mini chip, giving it various safety protections.

As shown above, there is a separate black button on the lower part of the device body, with a built-in LED indicator for battery level: >70% shows a green light for high battery (full output at 12.5W), 30%-70% shows a blue light (medium output at 10.5W), and <30% shows a red light for low battery (low-power output at 9W). In operation, besides pressing 5 times to turn it on or off, there is also an output adjustment mode. Press the button quickly 3 times to switch modes. The switched output is essentially the same as the output under the three battery-level modes, allowing users to choose their preferred output when the battery is sufficiently charged. The experience difference among the three modes is fairly obvious.

After removing the pod, you can see that it is secured magnetically. In the center of the device body are the passages for the two airflow switch openings.

The pod uses a popular duckbill-style mouthpiece, and the internal capacity is 2ml. The black translucent PGTC pod makes it very easy to check the remaining e-liquid. Renova ZERO refillable compact vape with ceramic coil review Here you can see that the air hole in the center of the pod corresponds to the two airflow holes on the device body. It’s not hard to tell this is designed to make the draw-activated switch easier to trigger, so in daily use it starts working immediately with just a light puff. Another major feature is the refill port on the right side of the pod shown above, which Vaporesso clearly put a lot of thought into designing.

This refill port design is officially called PTF filling technology. The idea is that when you press a refill bottle nozzle against the port, the port depresses and opens the internal channel for adding e-liquid. Compared with the rubber plug structures used on many other refillable pods, this design should perform better in terms of leak prevention. However, refilling can only be done with a squeeze bottle, because using certain glass droppers may cause breakage when pressure is applied. That’s why the original package includes a refill bottle. Renova ZERO refillable compact vape with ceramic coil review In actual use, the ZERO uses Vaporesso’s signature ceramic coil technology. Its flavor reproduction, vapor smoothness, and refined draw quality leave little to criticize, so both flavor-focused users and newcomers should be satisfied. On top of that, its relatively high output power for a compact vaping device, paired with a restricted direct-lung style draw, helps ensure full vapor and clear flavor with a pleasant warmth. As for battery life, the 650mAh capacity is more than enough for a full day of use, and coil lifespan is also noticeably better than that of traditional cotton coils. In terms of e-liquid recommendations, due to the characteristics of ceramic coils, I would only recommend using nicotine salt e-liquid at 40mg or above, or regular nicotine e-liquid at 12mg. #p#Page Break Title#e#

If there’s one drawback, it’s that condensation can build up in the pod’s airflow channel after extended use, so occasionally some may get drawn in. Just clean it regularly.
