Which Costs More: Vaping or Traditional Cigarettes? In late 2013, when I first entered the scene, it was a time when craftsmanship was all the rage. If you had an in-style old man, you were a big deal, and those with DNA30s paired with KF and Go board atomizers were considered the elite.
Let’s rewind to 2018, when VAPE became a commonly spoken term among many young people. On New Year's Eve 2017, I was having coffee at Starbucks in Wanda Plaza back home. As the sun set, a handsome guy strolled into the square wearing a hip-hop hat and a puffy jacket, with a Supreme fanny pack. Suddenly, he pulled out a Rogue Star from his fanny pack, paired with a pink battle. At that moment, my brain raced: 5500 + 1500 + 500 = excuse me!
As he walked past me, I shoved my Able deeper into my pocket. Everyone wants to own expensive things; seeing someone with such expensive gear makes you want it too. However, many forget why those products are so expensive. The question of why they are expensive deserves deep thought. Some might say they are expensive simply because of the price, and they want to buy them because of that. But I think I’ve encountered too many situations where people buy just because it’s expensive. Perhaps I don’t understand the spending habits of wealthy individuals, but are you really that wealthy?
I’ve seen wealthy individuals using VAPE. Initially, when 30ML imported oil was priced at 168, some bought a wall of it, while others bought a fridge full. A few enthusiasts in Beijing had several high-end limited devices on the table during gatherings, all top-tier models, with China having the most global limited editions. Are these people just foolishly rich? Each device has a story about why they love it and why they bought it, rather than just flaunting their high-end gear.
We use the devices we love, regardless of how expensive they are; it’s about personal preference. We shouldn’t care about what others use or compare our possessions. What’s the point? I believe that as a Vaper, one should have a distinct personality.
Tobacco contains thousands of toxic substances beyond tar and carbon monoxide. When comparing e-cigarettes and traditional cigarettes, the only similarity is that both contain nicotine and produce vapor. The most harmful and carcinogenic component is not nicotine but tar. Products should not only be evaluated based on price and usage costs but also on the added value they provide.
At this stage, the cost of using e-cigarettes is indeed higher than that of traditional cigarettes, but I believe that over time, e-cigarettes will become more affordable and of better quality, just like other products.
The VAPE industry is continuously growing, and as a qualified Vaper, one should embody the spirit of VAPE: health, making friends, and adding fun to life.
