AFK Night King atomizer review

 　　AFK STUDIO was established on June 27, 2017. Although it is a relatively new group, its members are a bunch of seasoned veterans. In just five months, this new group, led by these veterans, has launched three electronic cigarette products, two of which have brought the pinnacle of electronic cigarette design, “fully engraved rods and patterned steel covers,” to the masses.<\/p>   　　The product we are reviewing this time is one of these two products, the AFK Night King RDA, which has made patterned steel covers accessible to the public.   　　One of the members of AFK STUDIO, Lao Su, is a fan of skull elements, and he has incorporated skull elements into their products, and the packaging of the Night King RDA is no exception.   　　The packaging of the Night King RDA is made of white copper and aluminum alloy, featuring five skulls made of white copper, four large and one small, with a black anodized aluminum cube below the skulls; removing the large skull allows the aluminum packaging to be used as a coil-making platform, and the small skull can be pulled out to reveal four wire winding rods (two 3.0 and two 2.5). The aluminum packaging box is printed on all four sides with totems of a deer, sun, lion, and bird. The bottom of the packaging has four aluminum screws for securing the packaging, and it also prints the slogan of AFK STUDIO. Using a flathead screwdriver to unscrew the four screws allows you to open the packaging and take out the atomizer. Besides the atomizer, the packaging also includes a bag of accessories (BF electrode, spare O-rings, spare locking screws).   　　Luo Ling believes that the packaging of the Night King RDA is currently the highest quality and most practical among all mass-produced atomizer packaging, bar none.   　　The Night King RDA measures 29.6mm in height, 24mm in diameter, and weighs 53g without the packaging. It consists of two parts: the atomization chamber (cover) and the base. The cover and base are connected by a snap-fit and sealed with O-rings, and once installed, there is a height difference of 20 wires between the two, which is intentional by the AFK group to prevent scratches on the rod and box's 510 interface during the installation and removal of the atomizer and cover, and is not a quality or processing precision issue.   　　The overall shape of the Night King RDA resembles a Spartan warrior's helmet, giving Luo Ling a sense of stability, weight, and robustness. The inner diameter of the mouthpiece is 11mm, and the entire body is made of 316 stainless steel (rust-resistant), available in three versions: steel color, burnished gold, and mirror burnished gold (the mirror burnished gold is slightly more expensive than the other versions). The top of the cover is beveled at an appropriate angle, fitting well with the lips; the geometric slots and line cuts make the surface of the cover less monotonous and boring while also enhancing the heat dissipation performance to some extent; the middle and lower parts of the cover symmetrically feature two 5*2.5mm non-adjustable oval air inlets; the interior of the cover is dome-shaped, effectively gathering the smoke in the chamber while facilitating the return of condensation from the top.   　　The 24mm outer cover of the Night King RDA is made of 316 stainless steel, with a somewhat retro appearance and a rough surface texture in the burnished color. Generally speaking, products on the market do not come with a stainless steel outer cover, which would significantly increase costs, but AFK insists on this. Perhaps cutting back on some of the outer shell's creativity could lower costs.   　　The base of the Night King RDA is fully gold-plated, with electrode posts and screws silver-plated, and the oil cotton groove is 4mm deep. The bottom of the base is printed with the group name, group slogan, and product number, with the 510 positive electrode post protruding sufficiently for mechanical device use.   　　The core platform of the Night King RDA adopts an improved dual-post dual-hole structure; the distance between the tops of the electrode posts is 1mm, and the distance at the bottom is 7mm; the minimum distance is 5.5mm, and the maximum distance is 9.5mm, with two 3.3*3.3mm semi-open wire holes arranged in a V-shape, making it easy to install most fancy heating wires.   　　Luo Ling used a set of standard wire data to test the Night King RDA, with the following data: NI80 26G*2+36G Clapton, 3.0mm diameter, 5 wraps, dual coil, testing device: AV able mechanical rod (o(╥﹏╥)o the Wan skull was forcibly bought away), Sony C5A battery.   　　Installing heating wires on the Night King RDA is very simple, and during the installation process, there is basically no need to handle the coil legs, even players with limited manual skills can easily complete the installation.   　　The Night King RDA fits well with the lips, and during daily use, there will be no leakage, thus avoiding any deterioration in flavor due to leakage; although the airflow of the Night King RDA is non-adjustable, under the test data, the atomizer's draw resistance is just right; using the test data, with a 5-second interval, 20 moderate lung hits, the atomizer's temperature rose from 24℃ to 33℃, with the mouthpiece feeling warm, within an acceptable range; under the test data, the atomizer accurately reproduces the flavor of the e-liquid, with warm vapor, concentrated flavor, and clear layers, overall excellent flavor performance.   　　As for the Night King RDA itself, its mature structural design, reasonable data settings, stable and robust shape, and the addition of patterned steel material give it high quality and aesthetics while also providing an excellent user experience in daily use (whether in coil-making or flavor aspects).   　　The Night King RDA (Luo Ling thinks it is more appropriate to call it the Night King RDA kit, as it comes with winding rods and a coil-making platform in addition to the RDA itself) is a product that combines a high-quality and excellent atomizer with a high-quality and very practical outer packaging, coupled with its relatively affordable price, such a sincere product is rare, which shows that the AFK group's attitude towards product development is exceptional.   　　This concludes Luo Ling's review of the AFK STUDIO Night King RDA.
