Today, I want to share a product that is a collaboration between Augvape and Mike Vape—the Intake RTA atomizer.
This atomizer features air intake holes positioned at the top, which may give the impression of a top-airflow product. However, its internal structure employs a more complex design to achieve the vaporization effect of a conventional bottom-airflow product, which I will explain in detail.
Due to the configuration of both a fat tank and a standard tank, it can hold 4ml and 2ml of e-liquid, respectively. The factory-installed drip tip is an 810 resin tip, and the package also includes a POM drip tip and a 510 drip tip adapter. For daily use, you can simply use the two 810 drip tips, as the 510 drip tip does not match the appearance well.
Nowadays, atomizers come with a top cap and top-fill function, and the Intake RTA is no exception. However, its top cap uses two fixed slots to lock it in place, along with a large rubber O-ring for further sealing, making it more convenient to use than threaded designs. (The airflow adjustment ring can be disassembled separately)
From the side view of the air intake holes, you can see that there is an independent airflow channel inside to separate the intake and exhaust.
From the perspective inside the atomization chamber, you can see that the airflow channel is hidden within the outer rim of the central exhaust channel, directed inward through two airflow holes. PS: The partition responsible for blocking the airflow channel can be rotated.
Moving on to the electrode design, the positive and negative terminals use an open diagonal locking method. However, the most noticeable feature is the two tall airflow tubes fixed beside the electrode posts, allowing air from the top to be directed into the central three-way exhaust hole.
Now, the question arises: will the threaded base installation cause misalignment with the airflow holes in the tank? Actually, it won't, because if the base's airflow holes are not aligned, the locking threads cannot engage, ensuring that it can only be tightened when properly aligned.
Additionally, the internal partition can rotate infinitely, ensuring that it does not cause sealing issues during the tightening process due to linkage. This complex structure is easy to operate and very reliable.
The diagonal wire locking method may not seem to adapt well to all heating wires, but the Intake RTA's open locking method allows it to handle both clockwise and counterclockwise coils easily. It avoids the ridiculous situation where some atomizers cannot adapt well to both types of coils but still refuse to acknowledge it.
In actual experience, the most challenging aspect of top airflow designs is whether the first puff after filling will mix in excess air. Many keyboard warriors may not understand the nuances and will just focus on three points: flavor, richness, and clarity to mislead others. If you understand the design difficulties of top airflow, you will see the charm of the Intake RTA. Although the airflow path from the top to the bottom is long, experienced users can see that the distance from the base to the internal exhaust hole is very short, ensuring that every puff maintains the flavor without being disrupted by excess air.

However, this design is more suited for low-resistance single coil builds, and discussing layering is somewhat irrelevant, as the nature of the coil emphasizes a single flavor.
