In the first half of the year, SMOK launched three refillable pod products—INFINIX, FIT, and ROLO BADGE—each with its own focus in terms of appearance and functionality. In the second half of the year, SMOK kept up the momentum and introduced a new pod product: the SMOK NOVO pod vape.
The packaging continues SMOK’s usual minimalist style: a black slide-out paper box, with the SMOK brand logo at the top, the product name at the bottom, and a full-color 3D rendering of the device in the center. The color shown matches the actual product.
The device, 2 pods, a USB charging cable, and the user manual—that’s everything included in the box. The standard inclusion of two pods also reflects SMOK’s usual generosity.
The NOVO measures 88.3mm overall in length, 24mm in width, and 14.3mm in thickness, with a 450mAh battery capacity. Personally, I think it looks a bit like a brightly colored little whistle.
The silver honeycomb pattern covering both the front and back, along with the subtle starry texture hidden within it, gives every detail a refined and luxurious feel. The rounded body paired with a metal middle frame creates a dynamic and stylish impression. The 450mAh battery provides decent battery life and supports pass-through charging. Since it uses a standard USB interface, my power bank can keep doing its job too.
Like other pod vapes, the device and pod connect the circuit through electrode contact. What’s different is that it does not use a magnetic connection; instead, it relies solely on friction between the pod and the device to hold it in place. The tolerance control of the slot positions on both the pod and device is excellent. Once installed, it feels very secure—not only is there no looseness or wobble, but even when shaken hard, the pod stays firmly in place. The rubber gasket inside the device also does a good job of preventing condensation from getting inside.
The pod uses an airflow-activated structure and is made entirely of plastic. It features a refillable design with a 2ml capacity. Paired with high-nicotine e-liquid, it can support about half a day of use. The atomizer still uses the traditional coil-and-cotton setup, and the cotton has a fairly large contact area with the e-liquid, so wicking is not a concern.
The side filling port uses a silicone plug. In addition to being opened for refilling, the silicone material also increases friction with the device to help ensure the pod is installed securely. The flat, duckbill-style mouthpiece not only fits the lips better, but also extends the air path, making it more suitable for mouth-to-lung use.
After filling the pod, it should sit for about 2 minutes before use. The airflow switch is nicely sensitive, and the draw resistance is slightly lighter than a traditional cigarette. This caramel tobacco e-liquid delivers a profile closer to KFP, but with a more prominent tobacco note. The sweetness and creaminess are slightly lighter. The 25mg nicotine delivers a strong throat hit that is very noticeable. Vapor production is slightly greater than SMOK’s other three pod products, and the wick absorbs e-liquid quickly with no off-flavors. After every 3 to 5 puffs, you can see bubbles forming inside the pod.
After a full day of use, the 450mAh battery barely lasted until the end of the workday. During that time, there was no spitback or burnt taste. Thanks to the longer air path and angled air hole, there was no condensation entering the mouth throughout the day. Only a small amount of condensation collected on the rubber gasket inside the device.
Long battery life—450mAh battery capacity; attractive design—the silver honeycomb pattern on both sides with a subtle star-like effect; easy to carry—88.3mm length; more comfortable—the flat duckbill-style mouthpiece; more convenient—less condensation, no spitback, and suitable draw resistance.
