Man’s E-Cigarette Explodes While Using Low-Quality Device

China News Service, March 11—According to foreign media reports on the 10th, a man in Santa Ana, Southern California, suffered facial burns when an e-cigarette exploded while he was using it. He was vaping at the time when the device exploded, sending fragments flying throughout his room and setting his bed on fire.

　According to reports, the man was using a modified e-cigarette in his bedroom at around 1:45 a.m. When he quickly pulled the e-cigarette away from his face, the device exploded.

　The explosion was reportedly so violent that fragments from the battery-powered device were scattered all over the room, with one small piece becoming lodged in the bedroom ceiling. Clothes covering his bed also burst into flames.

　The man, who is in his 20s, is currently being treated for flash burns to his face and hands, especially cuts caused by the explosion.
