Baroque WAKE RTA Atomizer Review
A recent RTA has drawn controversy because it looks very similar to the familiar PETRI RTA. While many products share similar designs, the actual user experience can differ greatly. Today we take a look at the much-discussed WAKE RTA and see how it differ
Recently, a certain RTA has been controversial for resembling the well-known PETRI RTA. Many products may have similar designs, but the actual experience can vary significantly. Today, I will share a review of the recently popular WAKE RTA, to see how it differs from the PETRI RTA...
The cylindrical hard paper box comes with an independent atomizer number card, a spare glass tank, and sealing rings, but I couldn't find any included factory data coils. This atomizer is designed to be compatible with pre-made coils, and the RTA is the standard retail version, so if you want convenience, you can buy pre-made atomizer coils for immediate use. With a diameter of 24MM and available in several vibrant colors, the WAKE RTA has a 2.8ML e-liquid capacity and features many anti-slip vertical stripes, along with a semi-transparent resin heat-insulating drip tip and bottom airflow holes. This retro industrial-style RTA is sure to attract some players with its aesthetics. The standard bottom airflow design allows for more precise and delicate airflow adjustment due to the hole design, complemented by the anti-slip vertical stripes on the airflow ring, making it easy to adjust the airflow on the WAKE RTA. The designer has set a notch inside the airflow ring, making it easier to apply force when disassembling the base. Both the base and tank body are finished with a large area of gold plating, and the protruding length of the bottom electrode allows users to use it confidently on mechanical mods. The semi-transparent heat-insulating resin drip tip is not a standard interface, so there are limited options for interchangeable drip tips; however, the manufacturer has included a spare in the original packaging.
The WAKE RTA uses two sealing rings to ensure air tightness and combined damping. When opening the top cap for refilling, the anti-slip vertical stripes set on the tank body and top cap provide a comfortable grip with just the right amount of resistance. The wide central chimney allows for a direct vaping experience, making it somewhat closer to the flavor of an RDA.
The converging slope atomization chamber has been widely adopted, and a red silicone sealing ring can be seen at the top of the atomization chamber, ensuring air tightness between the electrode platform and the atomization chamber. Since this atomizer adopts a manual rebuildable and pre-made coil compatible design, it is somewhat structurally limited compared to a purely RTA design.
The open electrode platform is a structure we are already familiar with from the PETRI and RELOAD RTAs. The only drawback of this structure is that when installing coils, you need to pre-cut the leads to the appropriate length. From the outer "ring" of the electrode platform, you can see the oil guide holes, with two large oil guide holes providing sufficient speed for oil delivery during use.
The metal ring surrounding the electrode platform can be removed by hand; it relies on internal notches to secure the position of the oil guide holes, pressed tightly against the base by the sealing ring at the top of the atomization chamber. The electrode platform is fixed to the base by a twisting mechanism, and the factory-released pre-made atomizer coils can be replaced in the same manner as this manual rebuildable electrode platform for compatibility.
The negative lead holes are direct, but this does not lead to leaking. The two positions marked by the red ring are the cotton slots, where the cotton for the two coils shares one slot. Because of the external metal ring's fixation, making cotton on this electrode platform is more secure compared to the completely open PETRI RTA (22MM version). The improved structure of the cotton slots in the subsequent PETRI RTA (24MM version) and RELOAD RTA also confirms this point.
The hex screws have good hardness, and there is no need for additional complicated operations before locking the leads. After installing the coils, just adjust the coil position to be above the airflow holes, but be careful not to let the leads touch the top of the atomization chamber to avoid short circuits.
For the fully enclosed atomization chamber, before criticizing its lead hole width for not being compatible with extremely wide wire, consider whether the high heat generated will severely damage the flavor of the e-liquid. For example, switching from a 24G A1 coil to a 22G will result in noticeable temperature and flavor differences...
After properly wicking the cotton, it can be placed neatly on the oil slots. The cotton leads can be arranged in a front-and-back manner. Although it is often recommended to thin the cotton leads when using a tank atomizer, in this type of oil delivery design, the tightness of the cotton leads and oil guide holes ensures no leaking. Therefore, even if you need to thin the cotton leads for the WAKE RTA, be careful not to overdo it.
Once the cotton leads are properly placed, you can align the metal ring with the notch for installation. If the cotton is too thick and obstructs the metal ring, you can use tweezers to adjust it, ensuring that the groove at the bottom of the metal ring is not blocked by cotton. Although this ring adds an extra step in installation, its benefits are clear; you can rearrange the cotton after installing the metal ring to ensure air tightness.
The draw resistance of the WAKE RTA is tighter compared to the PETRI and RELOAD RTAs, with a semi-open draw that does not feel airy when fully open. This dual-coil tank atomizer has excellent flavor reproduction, with thick vapor traveling directly to your taste receptors through the wide and short airflow path, making its performance very close to the flavor of the RDA we commonly use.
In terms of data usage, a 24G wire gauge A1 coil is a balanced choice. Of course, friends pursuing vapor performance can switch to a 22G, but under conditions requiring heat dissipation from the atomizer, you need to consider whether the internal temperature will affect the flavor of the e-liquid. This means that if you use a three or four-piece Clapton coil on it, you need to carefully consider the matching of output power.
Overall, the WAKE RTA demonstrates excellent comprehensive strength. Firstly, there are no craftsmanship issues that cause discomfort, and its air tightness is reliable across the board. Secondly, its retro design and unique color options provide high recognition. Finally, its compatibility with both rebuildable and pre-made coils, along with outstanding flavor reproduction, makes the WAKE RTA a very user-friendly and stylish tank product, especially considering its reasonable retail price...#p#分页标题#e#
