Smoant has been quite active recently, continuously launching highly competitive products, and the RANKER can be considered Smoant's latest masterpiece. The military-style elements are also very eye-catching, so let's take a look at what changes this device has made!

Since there have been quite a few reviews of this device online recently, I won't dwell on the packaging. You can also check out the previous review: Smoant Ranker Gun Stock Box Review     —Appearance and Details—     The overall appearance references the design elements of a vertical gun handle. While changing the appearance of the fire button, it also alters the operation type. The device's dimensions of 59*92*31.5mm are certainly not small, but combined with the vertical gun handle shape, it doesn't seem oversized at all. It seems that this square shape is meant to be this large, only in this way can it highlight its own temperament.     The fire button is located on the right side of the device, and the triangular fire button uses a side-press ignition, making the ignition experience more comfortable. The elasticity and feedback of the fire button are quite good.     The top of the device is sloped, and the 510 connector is installed on the left side of the top, extending vertically from the sloped surface. The entire 510 platform has a diameter of 25mm, so there's no need to worry about scratches on the device's paint due to angle (except for giant atomizers like the Titan).     The 510 adaptive positive pin is arched, greatly avoiding issues like short circuits caused by overly large positive contacts of the atomizer (some devices may encounter such problems when paired with certain atomizers).     The tilted screen is parallel to the adjustment buttons and the device's own inclined lines, making it not look awkward. Since this RANKER device still uses Smoant's self-developed Ant V2 (ant218) chip, the screen display style and function adjustments are no different from the Selen 218.     Smoant has also released a PC operating system for this device, allowing players to adjust the background interface and other information on the PC, and it supports official firmware upgrades. Although it doesn't have the powerful operability of DNA and YIHI, this is already a significant improvement for a device aimed at the mid-to-low-end market.     The artificial leather patch on the back enhances the grip while also significantly improving aesthetics. Following Smoant's consistent style, different styles of patches will be launched for players to choose from. Smoant Ranker Device Review     The battery cover is designed at the bottom of the device, using the currently popular flip-top structure, with a very high level of flatness, only 0.1mm raised at the hinge. The sturdiness is excellent, requiring significant force to open the battery cover, which also reflects Smoant's solid craftsmanship.     The positive and negative markings are printed on the inside of the cover, clear and straightforward. The battery compartment is fully insulated, ensuring safety, and the gold-plated adaptive contacts have moderate elasticity, with overall excellent workmanship.     —Performance—     The main power output function supports a resistance value of 0.08 (officially 0.1)-5Ω, with a power range of 1-218W, which can be said to have improved practicality. The temperature control function supports resistance values of 0.05-2Ω, with a temperature control range of 100-300℃ (200-600℉). Additionally, the supported temperature control wire materials are Ni200 (nickel), Ti (titanium), and SS (stainless steel 303 304 316 317), which is quite comprehensive.     As Smoant's latest masterpiece, in addition to having a cool appearance, excellent performance is also essential. Let's take a look at a set of comparison images to see how its performance actually is! (Using the Killshot atomizer, triple-core Clapton, at 0.11 ohms, 157W for comparison, RANKER in normal mode)     —Pros and Cons—     First, let's list the advantages:     1. Excellent appearance design     2. Outstanding performance     3. 0.97-inch high-definition color display     4. Better grip and ignition experience     5. The top scratch-resistant plate design greatly enhances aesthetics     6. Excellent workmanship     Now let's talk about the issues:     1. The device is slightly large, not very friendly for players with small hands     2. The tilted screen is not very friendly for perfectionists, but when held in the right hand, the screen aligns perfectly with the angle of the palm (the opposite for the left hand)     3. Due to the press-type fire button and the wide body, adjusting settings requires two hands.     —Conclusion—     As device performance continues to homogenize, appearance and craftsmanship naturally become key factors influencing player choices. Sometimes, a device with an outstanding appearance can even lead players to overlook design issues and choose to purchase it. However, as player demands continue to rise, this phenomenon will eventually disappear; a combination of excellent appearance design and craftsmanship is the long-term solution.     Smoant has undoubtedly put in a lot of effort in this regard. The devices produced recently all possess excellent cost-performance ratios and unique appearance designs, along with quite good performance and craftsmanship.     This RANKER is undoubtedly in line with the recent trend of military-style devices, with its rugged shape and decent performance sure to capture a group of users who are keen on this style.     At a price of 498 RMB, it belongs to the higher cost-performance type among military-style devices. So, would you choose to purchase such a well-crafted, rugged-looking device with decent performance? Feel free to leave your comments below!
