How to check the meaning of the letter codes on the bottom of a RELX 1st Gen device—avoid buying cou
As a classic entry-level model, the RELX 1st Gen has remained popular ever since its launch and continues to be highly sought after in the market. People familiar with RELX know that there is a special laser-engraved letter code on the bottom of every RELX 1st Gen device. So what do these letter codes mean?
In fact, every symbol in this string of letters has its own specific meaning. It not only helps RELX trace its products more effectively, but also serves as an important way for consumers to verify authenticity.

First, pay close attention to the position of the laser engraving. On genuine products, it is located at the bottom of the battery housing, on the long side of the USB port. Please note that on some counterfeit products, the letter position is exactly the opposite. If the letters are on the short side of the USB port, the product is definitely counterfeit.
Second, the structure of these letter codes is standardized as: XX-YY-WWA. Among them, XX indicates the production batch, YY indicates the production date: year + week, and A is the place-of-origin code.
As for the batch definition: each additional pull line increases the production work order batch by 1. The meanings of the A origin code are: S - Songgang, H - Huolong, C - Chang’an, none - Dongcai.
On genuine products, the YY code corresponds exactly to the production date on the packaging. If the production date does not match the YY code, or if the YY code itself contains an obvious common-sense error, then it is definitely a counterfeit product.
For example, if the YY code is 2054, it is fake. That is because the specific meaning of YY code 2054 is: produced in the 54th week of 2020. As everyone knows, a year does not have 54 weeks. Therefore, this YY code is incorrect and the product can be identified as counterfeit.
Note: The above identification method only applies to the early generations of RELX 1st Gen products. Later products have been updated with the latest coding method, which will be introduced separately in the future.
