Tips and practice methods for blowing single rings with a vape. In early April 2019, I started my vaping journey. Initially, I used a stick, but later realized I needed something to heat the wire, so I switched to a box mod and various accessories. I didn't go through pre-made products; instead, I jumped straight into DIY. (However, I don't recommend this approach; it's better to take your time and understand the basics of vaping before diving into DIY, hehe.)

Let me share my experience with blowing smoke rings:

When I first learned to blow rings, I spent a whole day researching and memorizing the common points mentioned in articles and videos, from simple text descriptions to watching videos. The next day, I started practicing.

From the second day until the eighth day, my smoke rings began to take shape and stabilize, but I was told by experts that I lacked force, which was frustrating. At that time, if I increased the force, the smoke would disperse, and if I decreased it, the rings would be too light. However, I really enjoyed the culture of vaping, and since I like to research things on my own, I started watching videos again, carefully studying the coughing sounds and mouth shapes in the tutorials. I realized that the mouth shape is indeed a very important factor in blowing good smoke rings. To this day, I still tell new friends in QQ groups that mouth shape is crucial.

Adjust your mouth shape to a size that feels right for you, then cough. When coughing, the force from your throat should be short and precise, a kind of clever power, not blind force. Each time you cough a ring, you should summarize and recall the feeling of each ring in your mind, rather than practicing blindly. The speed of growth from feeling the practice versus blind practice is vastly different, and this is one of the key points.

Tips for blowing single rings with a vape—key analysis and practice methods (purely practical insights from my personal experience!):

1. Mouth shape (I believe this is the most important point): My mouth shape only covers my teeth, not wraps around them (as shown in the picture).

I hope this is understandable. It's not about wrapping but merely covering the teeth. This mouth shape doesn't require as much force as wrapping around the teeth; just a bit of pressure to cover is enough. I believe you can achieve this, and comparing the two methods will reveal a significant difference (provided you can blow rings). In practice, the size should be similar to that of a drink bottle opening or slightly larger; starting in front of a mirror is best. Smoke rings should be blown from the bottom up, not always in one direction.

When you find that your mouth is in the right shape, stop looking in the mirror and prepare to cough. This is my personal suggestion for mouth shape; if you feel it works, use it. If not, you can explore a shape that you prefer, as it varies from person to person.

2. Coughing is a short, quick cough. In the beginning, you don't need to use too much force; start with a gentle cough to find the feeling of a light cough in your throat, then gradually increase the force.

When you discover what force combined with what mouth shape produces what kind of smoke ring, you've already succeeded halfway. This is the feeling I found during my initial practice.

Secondly, the cough should be a quick, short burst of force—definitely short, not prolonged. If you drag it out, the smoke will linger too much, so the cough should be a brief, powerful one. When you find that the size of your mouth shape combined with the force produces a ring that moves forward, your basic skills can be considered in place (keep your tongue flat and still).

(First, blow out a puff of smoke: this is because after inhaling, smoke remains in your throat, and blowing some out helps fill your throat and mouth with smoke for better ring blowing.

Secondly, practice standing up; sitting or adopting strange postures can disrupt airflow. Sitting can cause internal heat to rise and scatter the airflow, so practice should be done standing.

Lastly, don't overdo it; remember to take breaks.)

The two basic points, techniques, and key points I've mentioned are all important. Don't just read; practice. All achievements come from practice—there's no shortcut! These are the essential techniques and practical methods for blowing single rings; I hope they inspire you.
