Is Glycerin in E-Liquid Harmful?
The ingredients of e-liquid include: vegetable glycerin, propylene glycol, nicotine, flavorings, and some additives.
It seems that my friend hasn't quite understood the situation yet. The concentration of e-liquid refers to the nicotine content, not the tar content, as e-liquids do not contain tar.

The main hazards of cigarettes are tar, carbon monoxide, and other harmful substances. Nicotine can be addictive but is not carcinogenic. Using e-cigarettes can gradually reduce nicotine levels, helping to overcome dependence on smoking. While it's misleading to say that e-cigarettes are completely harmless, they are significantly safer than traditional cigarettes. Therefore, if you're looking to quit smoking, they can be a good option. Persistence is key, and whether you achieve your desired outcome ultimately depends on yourself.
Firstly, wanting to have something in your mouth indicates that you haven't successfully quit smoking (the craving for cigarettes can be behavioral or physiological; physiological cravings are due to nicotine dependence, which cannot be overcome by willpower alone). Wanting to inhale something shows that both behavioral and physiological cravings haven't been eliminated; you're just forcing yourself not to smoke. E-cigarettes cannot directly help you quit smoking like medication; they are merely a form of nicotine replacement therapy that gradually reduces nicotine dependence.
Claiming that e-cigarettes are harmless is nonsense; nicotine is inherently harmful (although all nightshade plants contain nicotine, it’s a matter of dosage). Even with 0mg e-liquid, no one can guarantee that the flavorings are completely harmless. However, compared to traditional cigarettes, the risks are minimal; consuming a bottle of e-liquid is less harmful than drinking a bottle of beer.
