JVE Feiwo 1st Generation vs 1.5 Generation Vaping Device Head-to-Head Review! Feiwo Pod Flavor Recom
JVE Feiwo 1st Generation vs 1.5 Generation Vaping Device Head-to-Head Review! Flavor Recommendations at the End!

1. Packaging

The 1st generation has a push-pull packaging design, while the 1.5 generation features a drawer-style packaging. The 1.5 generation box is visibly larger than the 1st generation.

3. Pods

The JVE pods are compatible between the 1st and 1.5 generations, priced at 99 per box (3 pods), with each pod containing 1.8ml and using a ceramic atomizer core, available in 17 flavors.

The pod I received is the 【Passion Fruit】 flavor, and I happen to have three brands of passion fruit-flavored pods (Feiwo, Laimi, MOTI, and a generic brand) for a comparative review.

Feiwo: Upon opening the package, there is a strong passion fruit aroma. The initial taste is a mix of passion fruit and orange, with a faint passion fruit flavor when exhaling. However, after using 2/3 of the pod, the flavor mostly turns into orange soda, indicating that the passion fruit flavor dissipates too quickly. The overall intensity is slightly high, and the authenticity is not particularly good (if it were named passion fruit orange soda, the authenticity could be said to be 100%). The cooling effect is well-controlled, but continuously vaping this flavor can become a bit overwhelming.

Laimi: You must have tried the Coco passion fruit double shot, right? Vaping it feels like taking a big gulp of ice-cold passion fruit double shot on a hot summer day, giving you a brain freeze (especially when taking a big puff). The passion fruit flavor is very strong, and the flavoring is well done, but it’s a bit too cold.

MOTI: This is a watered-down version of the passion fruit double shot. MOTI's flavoring is generally quite rich, and this one is lighter, possibly to avoid the overwhelming nature of passion fruit.

Generic brand: The flavor is labeled as 【Orange Passion Fruit】, so the orange flavor is quite strong. Since I personally dislike e-liquids with orange flavors, I’m not a fan of this one.

Next is the familiar violent teardown:

It can be seen that there is a condensation liquid absorption cotton on the base of the heating component, aimed at preventing condensation liquid from flowing into the device body, protecting the mic (commonly known as air switch) and chip from damage. However, the internal condensation control of the device is quite good, with only one instance of condensation entering the mouth, so it is still recommended to wipe the condensation liquid every 1/3 of the pod used. As long as you clean it in time, there won’t be any condensation entering the mouth.

Flavor detailed testing (personal subjective evaluation):

【Mung Bean】 Last week, I tested new devices using mung bean, and I’m tired of it, don’t want to judge.

【Peach Oolong】 The taste of peach and oolong tea is evenly balanced, and I feel it’s quite similar to a generic brand.

【Grape】 Similar to the grape flavor from a few years ago in big clouds, vaping it feels like eating grapes without spitting out the skin, a bit astringent, but the exhaled vapor leaves a fragrant grape flesh flavor.

【Cola】 The intensity is severely lacking, like cola syrup diluted with too much water, but the carbonation effect is well done.

【Watermelon】 The flavor is like watermelon bubble gum, but it lacks sweetness and even has a hint of bitterness. The exhaled vapor leaves a pleasant flavor, but I personally don’t like it.

【Orange Soda】 I personally dislike e-liquids with orange flavors.

【Lemon Black Tea】 This does not taste like any lemon black tea on the market; it would be better if the lemon aroma and acidity were more pronounced, and the black tea flavor was stronger. The vaping experience is quite bland and not easy to get tired of.

【Passion Fruit】 After renaming, it would score higher in my opinion.

Haven't tried the others.

Personal Recommendations: 【Peach Oolong】【Cola】【Lemon Black Tea】【Passion Fruit】

Overall Evaluation (out of 5 points)【As objective as possible, pod flavor is a subjective evaluation, after all, everyone has different tastes.】

Appearance: 1st Generation - 4 points; one point deducted for being a public mold. 1.5 Generation - 5 points; it would be perfect if this also came with a pod.

Craftsmanship: 1st Generation - 3.5 points; I experienced inconsistent draw resistance with the same pod. 1.5 Generation - 4.5 points; the 1.5 generation is already very perfect, but the roughness of the air intake holes needs to be improved, which was not an issue in the 1st generation.

Flavor: 3.5 points; the rod being a public mold is not a problem, but the e-liquid must be well-crafted.

Draw Resistance: 3.5 points; slightly loose, those who prefer a tight draw should remember to manually block the air intake holes.

Leakage Prevention: 5 points; no leakage has occurred with 7 pods so far.

Condensation Liquid: 4 points; there are measures to prevent condensation at the bottom, and if the friction on the inner wall of the airway is increased, there should be no condensation entering the mouth.

Recommendation Index: 3.5 points; looking forward to the day when the old pod flavors are revamped, the new flavors have been rated quite well, and also looking forward to the day when the 2nd generation is commercially available.

As a vaping device reviewer, it's clear that the JVE 1st Generation (green on the left) uses a public mold, but it still looks good. The main body is dark green with two narrow gold edges. Personally, I prefer the dark green of the 1st generation over the 1.5 generation. The oval-shaped breathing light is installed in the middle of the rod and stays on while inhaling. The air intake holes are designed on both sides, with a slightly loose draw. If you prefer a tighter draw, you can block one of the air intake holes. However, during personal use, I experienced inconsistent draw resistance with the same pod, sometimes feeling loose and sometimes tight. The charging port is type-C, and the pod can be inserted in either direction, using a magnetic fixation method. The battery capacity is 350mAh, with an output voltage of 2.7V, and a full charge can last through an entire pod.

The body of the device has been slightly modified from the 1st generation, with a one-piece design at the bottom. The color I received is pearl white, with a finely crafted paint job that resembles automotive paint, incorporating some glitter into the white base coat, giving it a more textured feel than the pure white of some other brands. The breathing light has changed from an oval shape to the brand logo shape, rolling display while inhaling (corresponding to normal mode and turbo mode). Everything else is basically the same, but due to the prototype nature, the air intake holes are not as well-made as the 1st generation, with noticeable roughness protruding outward. The output voltage can switch between 2.5V and 2.7V (corresponding to normal mode and turbo mode), and you can switch by inserting the pod three times within 1.5 seconds.
