Detailed side-by-side review of the RELX 3rd Gen Lingdian vape and recommended pod flavors
The RELX 3rd Gen Lingdian is an vaping device I had been looking forward to ever since it launched.
1. Outer packaging
The outer packaging abandons the lift-off box style used for the 1st and 2nd generation and switches to a design that opens from both the left and right sides. The kit comes with four pods included (Cool Tobacco, Mint, Mung Bean, and Red Bull).

2. Device body
The Lingdian comes in a total of 9 colors, and every one of them is hard to resist.
The body is flatter than the 1st generation and smoother than the 2nd generation. Some colors feature a wave-textured finish that improves grip and makes the device highly recognizable. (I usually carry more than two vaping devices when I go out, and I can identify the Lingdian by touch right away.) It weighs 1g more than the 1st generation, and the in-hand feel is excellent. The breathing light has been changed to a long strip design, which is relatively discreet and looks especially nice on the Lingdian’s slim body. The charging port is Type-C, but the pod connection has been changed so that the pod can only be inserted in one direction. RELX’s reverse move here is honestly hard to understand—maybe it was changed for pod flavor recognition. In addition, the airflow hole uses a hidden design, so you will not run into the issue of blocking airflow when holding it.

Unlike before, the 3rd generation adds an intelligent processing system, allowing the device to connect to the mobile app (RELX ME). Users can view their daily usage data, and the hands-on interaction is very strong.
Below is a preview video of the app
3. Pods
There are 13 flavors in total (with Watermelon newly added), including 6 flavors that are the same as in the first two generations. The official price is 99 RMB for two 1.5ml pods, and one pod lasts about 2 days. In terms of value for money, it is not as good as the 2nd generation, so it can only be said to be a must-have for well-off users.

Compared with the 2nd generation, the airway has been shortened significantly, changing from the 2nd generation’s “three-bend” airway to a “right-angle airway.”
Although the improved airway can reduce the chance of condensation being inhaled into the mouth to a greater extent, the likelihood of leaking is still quite high. As I said in the previous article, a complicated structure is actually not conducive to leak prevention in pods.
There were 5 leaks of varying severity within 13 days... not much different from the 2nd generation.
Detailed flavor review (purely subjective):
【Mint】Tastes the same across all RELX series
【Cool Tobacco】A flue-cured tobacco flavor with added nuttiness, plus a little more cooling than earlier generations
【Red Bull】Better than the 1st generation Red Bull flavor
【Mung Bean】Slightly less cooling, with a tiny hint of bitterness
【Late Night Coffee】Much better than the 2nd generation coffee flavor—at least it is no longer harsh
【Grape】If the grape flavor from YOOZ is like jelly-style white grape, then this one is the aroma of authentic purple grape—very enjoyable
【Fruit Carnival】Feels like a mixed fruit tea
【Tipsy Apricot Peach】Strong peach aroma, while the apricot note is a bit lighter
【Tart Passion Fruit】The best flavor in the 3rd generation lineup
【Ocean】Oddly, it starts with a faint salty taste followed by mixed fruit aroma, but the first puff is very harsh—I have never seen anyone try this one without coughing
【Hami Melon】Haven’t tried it yet
【Cola】Haven’t tried it yet
【Watermelon】Haven’t tried it yet
My personal recommendation: aside from 【Mint】 and 【Tobacco】, all the others taste good!
Overall rating (out of 5)【As objective as possible; pod flavor ratings are subjective, since everyone’s taste is different】
Appearance: 5 points; forward-looking design, and the anti-slip treatment is excellent—mom never has to worry about me dropping my device again!
Colors: 5 points; every color looks fantastic!
Build quality: 4.5 points; very good overall, but the small notch was not polished smooth enough and feels a bit sharp
Flavor: 5 points; almost all the pods taste great (except Mint and Tobacco)
Draw resistance: 5 points; slightly lower draw resistance than the 2nd generation
Leak prevention: 1 point; the complicated structure actually works against leak prevention in the pods
Condensation: 3.5 points; much better than the 2nd generation
Recommendation score: 3.5 points
