In-Depth Review of the VVILD V1 Vaping Device, with Recommended Pod Flavors You Won’t Regret
VVILD V1 is my third e-cigarette after I stopped using MOTI, and I've been using it since I bought it. Today, I want to share my thoughts on it.
VVILD belongs to Shenzhen VVILD Technology Co., and the founding team comes from well-known brands like Huawei and Smartisan (with investment from Luo Yonghao).
In April 2019, they successfully launched their first product, the VVILD V0 e-cigarette, and on August 27, 2019, they released the new VVILD V1 standard and V1 Plus versions of the pod-based e-cigarette. The V1 standard version comes in dark red, deep green, and carbon black. The V1 Plus version features a carbon black body with a secondary anodized finish, a design with a "fine red line," and includes a "hygienic mouthpiece cap" along with IPX4 waterproofing.
On August 27, 2019, VVILD officially announced that Edison Chen would serve as the brand's special creative officer while simultaneously launching the new VVILD V1 & V1 Plus e-cigarettes.

Product introduction:
VVILD offers the VVILD V0, VVILD V1, VVILD V1 Plus, VVILD V1 Plus Walnut, and disposable VVILD devices (shown from left to right in the image).

There are a total of 18 pod flavors, with three new flavors—Chilled Watermelon, Chilled Cola, and Old Popsicle—added starting April 21, and pre-orders began on April 15.
First, let's talk about the packaging, which is similar to the V0 with a red and white striped design.

The kit includes three pods: tobacco, mint, and mung bean, which is quite generous compared to some competitors.
However, the design of the device is rather average, appealing to most users. The mesh breathing light is quite attractive, and the Type-C charging port allows for easy insertion without worrying about orientation. One downside is that the breathing light is red, which made me think it was out of battery when I first received it. The device feels a bit heavy, which is great for those who prefer a heavier device. The air intake holes are on both sides of the device, and I personally dislike that they can be accidentally covered while holding it.

However, my device has experienced two instances of heating up on its own after finishing a puff, and I had to get a replacement from customer service. I haven't encountered that issue again, but it's worth noting.
Now, let's discuss the pods. The V1 compatible pods come with black and white mouthpieces, allowing users to choose their preferred color. The mouthpiece design is flat, providing a comfortable fit without any leakage, which is commendable. The atomizer core is ceramic, ensuring excellent vaporization of the e-liquid, resulting in a great flavor. However, RELX's black ceramic atomizer core is designed for quick oil absorption, giving it a slight edge in flavor.
In terms of flavors, including the three unreleased ones, there are a total of 21 flavors, similar to RELX's first generation, but VVILD has more enjoyable options. The pods contain 2ml of e-liquid, which can last about three days, providing decent longevity.
Flavor details (personal subjective judgment):
[Classic Tobacco] The tobacco flavor is decent but has some off-notes;
[Mango] A bit too rich;
[Lychee] Strong artificial flavor, but that's common with lychee flavors;
[Honey Green Tea] Average;
[White Grape] Flavor replication is questionable;
[Mung Bean] The flavor is richer and heavier than RELX's, slightly overwhelming on the exhale;
[Blueberry] A cool flavor that is quite pleasant;
[Melon] Perfectly replicates the taste of cantaloupe (I'm currently vaping this);
[Grapefruit] Too strong of an artificial flavor, not enjoyable; [White Peach Oolong] Good flavor with moderate brightness;
[Energy Drink] Cooler than blueberry with a stronger throat hit, great for summer, better than RELX's flavor;
[Frozen Oolong Tea] I haven't tried it, so I won't comment;
[Taro Ice Cream] Balanced sweetness and coolness, not overly rich;
[Orange Sparkling Water] Decent flavor but slightly heavy on the artificial taste;
[Vita Lemon Tea] Some bitterness, perfectly replicating Vita Lemon Tea;
[Coffee] I haven't tried it, so I won't comment;
Personal recommendations: [Mango], [White Grape], [Blueberry], [Melon], [White Peach Oolong], [Energy Drink], [Taro Ice Cream], [Vita Lemon Tea]
