After the ban on online sales of e-cigarettes was implemented, the e-cigarette brand "MOTI" issued a statement declaring that it will never sell to minors or non-smokers, firmly supporting market regulation and management.

On November 1, the National Tobacco Monopoly Administration and the State Administration for Market Regulation issued a notice on further protecting minors from the harm of e-cigarettes. It mentioned that to enhance the protection of minors' physical and mental health and prevent them from purchasing and using e-cigarettes online, e-cigarette manufacturers, sellers, or individuals are urged to promptly shut down e-cigarette online sales websites or apps; e-commerce platforms are urged to close e-cigarette stores and take e-cigarette products off the shelves; and e-cigarette manufacturers, sellers, or individuals are urged to withdraw e-cigarette advertisements published online.

MOTI stated that it firmly supports the above notice and will immediately begin self-inspection to further standardize and improve its business practices.

MOTI claims it has implemented technical measures to prevent minors from using its products, such as designing child locks and reminders for the number of puffs taken. In the future, the brand will further introduce electronic barriers and identity verification technologies to prevent minors from accessing and purchasing e-cigarette products.

According to Tianyancha data, MOTI is a manufacturer and seller of e-cigarettes under Shenzhen Lei Yan Technology Co., Ltd., established in November 2018, and has completed $10 million in Pre-A round and $50 million in A round financing. Notably, as of the time of writing, MOTI's related products are still being sold on its Tmall flagship store.
