Sikary Launches Its First Product After Returning: Is the Veteran Vape Maker Becoming a Spec Powerho
We have previously mentioned that one of the most important industry trends in 2021 is the shift from marketing-driven products to performance-driven products. This is not only reflected in the rise of new brands in the pod system era that are launching differentiated high-end products; it is also evident as established players, who have successfully made a name for themselves overseas through technological innovation, are announcing their official return to the domestic market.

For instance, we previously reported that VOOPOO launched the ZOVOO brand and held an authorization ceremony for the China region, while SMOK announced its return with the Aurora. Recently, we learned that another established player will further strengthen its domestic layout.

It is reported that Sikary is about to launch its new product, the “Blade.” As a pod system, it is priced at 39/1 stick and 1 pod, which is competitive even against many small brands that rely on capital to capture the market. It is clear that Sikary is determined to expand its presence in the domestic market.

So the question arises, what kind of answer sheet will Sikary, as an established manufacturer, present this time? How did they achieve this?

Design: Strong Differentiation and Recognition

Before seeing the series of materials on the Blade, we actually did not have high expectations. On one hand, based on the price, and on the other hand, as the first real product launched for the domestic market, it would typically be a test run.

However, it seems that Sikary has invested costs that exceed products in this price range for the Blade.

First, in terms of appearance design, it did not adopt the most common rod shape of lower-priced products, which is easier to manufacture, but instead used an irregular design resembling a military knife, making it stand out among many affordable products solely based on design.

According to our understanding, in addition to the differentiated appearance design, the Blade has not compromised on materials, still using aviation aluminum and anodized surface treatment, with the mouthpiece made of food-grade PCTG. The edges on both sides of the body are crafted using CNC technology with a tolerance control of ±0.1mm, ensuring its quality is on par with mainstream products in the same price range.

In terms of visual appeal, Sikary has also presented a contrasting color design through secondary anodization, along with an industry-first exposure development process for the logo, resulting in an overall quality that can be said to possess “superior” capabilities.

Sikary revealed that the first batch of the Blade will come in 4 colors: Sunset Glow (yellow-red gradient), Brilliant Red (blue-purple gradient), Blue Sky (blue gradient), and Green Mountain (blue-green gradient), each assigned different meanings.

According to Sikary's vision, this series of designs can greatly enhance recognition. In our view, this is indeed a good strategy to stand out in the currently highly homogenized affordable product market.

Function: Established Manufacturers Also Become “Material Monsters”

Previously, there have been affordable products that made impressive appearances, but they often compromised on performance. After all, under the cost ceiling, “jack-of-all-trades” products are often hard to achieve. However, in this regard, the Blade has indeed invested heavily.

Sikary introduced to us that by optimizing the layout of components, even with the limited space of an irregular design, the Blade is still equipped with a 400mAh battery and a mainstream Type-C charging port.

Compared to many affordable products that suffer from low power and slow charging due to reduced components, the Blade achieves over a full pod's worth of battery life at 8W output, while controlling the charging time to around 60 minutes.

The question arises, what is the significance of “stacking materials” on affordable products? This relates to the investment in the pods.

Sikary revealed that the pods matched with the Blade use mesh ceramic core heating technology, expanding the heating area by 4 times, ensuring more even heating and greater vapor production, resulting in a richer and more delicate flavor, with a nicotine delivery rate increased by nearly 1.5 times. This heating element data undoubtedly requires more stable and sufficient power output, which explains why the Blade has “stacked materials” in its power configuration.

Beyond work performance, the Blade also does not “submit a blank paper” in terms of added features. The smart detection technology equipped will prompt through a white LED light after continuous inhalation for 5 seconds; once the number of puffs reaches the limit, the Blade will also issue a smart reminder.

#p#Pagination Title#e#About Sikary

Why does Sikary, when making affordable products, come out so strong? This is related to its background.

As the president unit of the Electronic Cigarette Industry Committee of the China Electronic Commerce Association, Sikary is an international brand enterprise integrating R&D, production, sales, and service. With 10 years of accumulation in the international market, Sikary has already incubated 6 major brands including SIGELEI, SNOWWOLF, FUCHAI, VCIGO, KAOS, and COMPAK, capturing the top three sales in the United States and selling well in multiple countries.

Its team, centered around the president of the Electronic Cigarette Industry Committee, Ou Junbiao, mostly comes from the tobacco, fast-moving consumer goods, and internet industries, and has collaborated with top global alternative tobacco product R&D engineers, pharmacists, and excellent tobacco flavorists with 30 years of experience.

In other words, a stable overseas market and years of technical accumulation give Sikary a stronger supply chain advantage. This is reflected in its ability to produce mature products in a short time and provide stronger product performance at the same price point.

The most direct manifestation is that Sikary announced its entry into the domestic market in December 2020, established Shenzhen Mist Technology Co., Ltd., and within just six months, launched the Blade, with more intelligent products based on the latest alternative tobacco technology to follow.

It is reported that the first flavors of the Blade will include 15 options such as Treasure Strawberry, Ice Mango, Ice Brew Lychee, Ice Green Bean, Fragrant Tieguanyin, Peach Oolong, West Lake Longjing, Elizabeth, and Slightly Tipsy Mojito, all with a capacity of 2ML.

In terms of sales, the Blade's kit will include four options: Sunset Glow Kit (yellow-red gradient + Ice Mango), Brilliant Red Kit (blue-purple gradient + Energy Cola), Blue Sky Kit (blue gradient + Cool Mint), and Green Mountain Kit (Ice Green Bean + blue-green gradient). As the first wave of products, it can be said to have a complete SKU.

Overall, based on the pricing of 39/1 stick and 1 pod, the Blade has already provided very balanced paper parameters, and it is hard to ask for more from Sikary. In the long run, as more established manufacturers with R&D and production capabilities begin to make strides in the domestic market, it will bring more variables to the domestic vaping market, which is undoubtedly a good thing for the healthy development of the industry.
