Why do e-cigarette cartridges leak? What causes it and how can it be fixed?
China is the world’s largest producer of e-cigarettes. Nearly 90% of the world’s e-cigarette products are made in China. However, in China, which has more than 300 million smokers, e-cigarettes have not generated much interest among consumers. Why is that?
At present, the main selling point of e-cigarettes is that they can replace traditional cigarettes. However, after looking into it, we found that e-cigarettes have one common problem: leaking e-liquid.
Many smokers have encountered this issue while using e-cigarettes. So what exactly causes e-cigarette leakage? And how can it be fixed?

Causes of e-cigarette leakage:
1. Refilling too quickly or filling too much
Many beginners are impatient when refilling. They fill too quickly or overfill the device. This can cause the coil to become oversaturated, or allow some e-liquid to enter the base before being absorbed by the coil, resulting in leakage.
2. Long-term storage
Some people buy an e-cigarette and then do not use it for a long time, or they leave unused e-liquid in the atomizer for an extended period. This can also cause leakage. In general, only refill according to your expected usage. If there is e-liquid left over for the day and the device will be stored for a long time, it is recommended to discard the remaining e-liquid.
3. Damaged atomizer
Leakage may also be caused by a damaged atomizer or a missing sealing ring. When unscrewing the atomizer for refilling, handle it gently and try not to touch the seal. However, if the atomizer is damaged, it must be replaced with a new one.
4. It may be condensation
Wipe the cartridge. If the tissue stays white, it is condensation. If it turns yellow, it is e-liquid leakage.
How to fix e-cigarette leakage:
1. During use, the correct way to hold an e-cigarette is with the battery end tilted downward, rather than lifting it upward while puffing.
2. It is best to fill the e-liquid to 1.3ML, with a maximum of no more than 1.6ML (the e-cigarette chamber has scale markings).
3. If the methods above do not solve the problem, replace the coil. In some cases, the wick in an individual coil is too thin, causing the e-liquid to flow into the chamber too quickly, and replacing it can solve the issue.
4. Another possibility is that the refilling method was incorrect from the beginning, often because the user did not properly follow the refilling video instructions.
5. One final situation: when unscrewing the battery section, some users hold the glass chamber of the atomizer instead of the metal threaded section in the middle of the e-cigarette. This can loosen the threads between the glass chamber and the atomizer, causing leakage by hand. Tighten it properly.
The above is our summary of e-cigarette leakage issues and the solutions for fixing e-cigarette leaks. We hope this is helpful to everyone.
