RELX: China’s Best-Selling Vaping Brand

RELX is currently the best-selling brand in China, but as a reader, you can rest assured that anyone who knows me understands my neutral style. Especially when reviewing my previous evaluations and outputs on RELX, I see no favoritism.

RELX currently sells four products: RELX Classic (first generation), RELX Alpha (second generation), RELX Lingdian (third generation), and RELX Unlimited (fourth generation). Let's discuss them one by one, and don't worry, this article will first talk about the first generation. (The disposable product "Little RELX" really has nothing much to say.)

Here, let me add a side note. Many people, including some publishers, like to refer to the above products as generations 1, 2, 3, and 4. In fact, apart from the classic model of the first generation, RELX officials are also reluctant to simply name them by numerical iterations. One is Alpha, Lingdian, and Infinity, which have their unique technical selling points; the other is that the positioning of several models is different, not just who is better than whom.

The first generation of RELX products is the "founding father" that made a significant contribution to RELX. It received product news in 2017 and officially began sales in 2018. In the era before the "ban on online sales of e-cigarettes," relying on the explosive period of the industry and RELX's strong marketing capabilities, it quickly captured the market and users' minds, becoming the absolute number one in market share.

To this day, the first generation of RELX remains the sales king of RELX and even the entire e-cigarette industry, although I don't know how long this will last. Personally, I believe that the first generation of RELX does not have many advantages in product functionality. However, the share of user mind is too large, coupled with the restrictions on e-cigarette information on Internet platforms, many users have become accustomed to it. RELX also happens to regard it as the entry-level product in its product line and has made a lot of money through pod repurchases.

Let's talk about RELX Alpha. Understandably, the product's competitiveness in 2018 was insufficient, but it still met the basic requirements of e-cigarettes to satisfy most users' needs.

Why do I say this? Let's analyze the main product parameters:

Battery capacity: 350mAh

Charging port: Android

Pod capacity: 2.0ml

Weight of a single device: 17.3 grams

Analyzing one by one, the battery capacity is 350mAh, which is relatively light. Although many newly launched competitive products also use small capacities, I personally often use it, and I barely make it through a day, which does not meet my daily charging needs, or I occasionally forget to charge it, which is a bit awkward.

The Android charging interface also feels somewhat outdated. Now mainstream e-cigarette products, even mobile phone products, are using Type-C charging ports to improve charging efficiency.

The 2.0ml pod storage capacity is consistent with the level of mainstream e-cigarette products. Currently, the pod sizes of e-cigarette products are generally between 1.6ml and 2.0ml, depending on the technology and product positioning of the manufacturer. Over 2.0ml, currently only Bode is doing this, while Amber and Super Bling offer 3.5ml.

As for appearance, beauty and ugliness have their own preferences. I can only ensure that I take good photos for everyone.

The first generation of RELX is a veteran in the heavy-duty style e-cigarette market. Naturally, there is no need to worry about the number of flavors. There are nearly 30 flavors available with different nicotine levels (0%-5%, mostly 3%). This is enough to satisfy most users' needs.

In terms of flavor, I will publish another article for evaluation; those interested can follow me. Overall, most flavors are reliable. (To be honest, I find the herbal tobacco flavor quite ordinary, as the e-liquid vaporization to restore the taste of traditional cigarettes is still a bit strange.)

In terms of flavor, the draw resistance is moderate, not suitable for direct lung hits. If the draw resistance is too low, you can block the airflow on the side of the device with your finger to increase the thickness... Sorry, this is to increase the draw resistance. The first generation of RELX has two airflow holes on the side. However, you also need to be careful not to accidentally block both.

First of all, RELX products are manufactured by Mcwell Company, the largest e-cigarette OEM in China. Most of the small devices you see in China are produced by this company. [p26]

As a user, the name McWell may not be familiar to you. It is actually a mature e-cigarette manufacturer that has grown into the first-generation OEM in the Chinese industry through the rise of small devices, owning hundreds of patented technologies.

The second and more important issue is about RELX counterfeits, generic pods, and sub-factory tobacco. Due to the astonishing sales of RELX, many first-time users choose RELX for various reasons. This has led to lucrative and even huge profits. RELX itself is a mold product, and the threshold for fraud is not high, which has resulted in a flood of counterfeit products. I will discuss this issue in another article later, and even a video will be made to address it. Follow me, and it will be concluded.

Generic pods, such as transparent pods, glowing pods, etc., and LV engraved tobacco strips have been officially declared by RELX.

After this article is published, some of my colleagues even dislike me and try to motivate me on various platforms and channels. Perhaps I have never been a likable person, but I never thought that making such money would be a good thing for the industry and individuals. In fact, this does not mean that RELX generic pods cannot be bought at all. After all, there are large OEM factories, but I advise you to be cautious and then cautious!

I believe that the first generation of RELX may not only be a product of RELX e-cigarettes but also a topic and phenomenon. However, when it comes to the product itself, objectively speaking, the product's capabilities are insufficient, and due to high sales, there is no need to protect the small cow. But this will never lose the chain's significance because the nature of heavy-duty e-cigarette products is not complex; technological innovation and upgrades have just begun, and there is still much to be done in the entire market.

As a user, if you like the first generation of RELX or its users, there is no problem using it. It is a more user-friendly product for newcomers and has a lower trial cost. Just be careful to determine the purchasing channel and not become a price-sensitive customer. I will stop here and leave my own product.
