RELX 4th Gen vs 5th Gen: Which Is Better and What’s the Difference?

A common question that often arises is the difference between the RELX 4th Generation Infinite and the RELX 5th Generation Phantom, and which one is better?

In light of this question, I, as a store owner, will analyze the two products based on my personal experience.

1. Product Parameters

Both the 4th and 5th generations use aluminum alloy materials and anodizing processes, with a battery capacity of 380 mAh. The cartridges for both generations are interchangeable. At this point, you might think the two products are too similar and have no differences. But wait, let’s discuss the differences based on personal experience.

2. Experience

Top 1. Oil Leakage / Condensate Leakage

In terms of oil leakage, I must say that the RELX 5th Generation performs better than the 4th Generation. Based on my experience over the past six months, the detailed data is as follows:

4th Generation oil leakage count: 2, 4th Generation condensate leakage count: 3

5th Generation oil leakage count: 0, 5th Generation condensate leakage count: 1

Overall, both the RELX 4th and 5th Generations have done well in preventing oil leakage, but the 5th Generation significantly outperforms the 4th Generation in this regard. The reason the 5th Generation is so effective in preventing oil leakage is not only due to improvements in the cartridges but also because RELX has added a pressure relief hole at the bottom of the 5th Generation.

The RELX with a pressure relief hole offers the best user experience in the current product line, whether in high-temperature environments or other extreme conditions. With the pressure relief hole, it can be said that it almost never leaks oil, and condensate is very minimal.

Top 2. Draw Resistance

The draw resistance experience of the 4th Generation is better than that of the 5th Generation. The draw resistance of the 5th Generation feels a bit light, while the 4th Generation feels more "compact," better simulating the experience of smoking. The 5th Generation feels a bit "hollow" in comparison.

Top 3. Cartridges

The difference in cartridges lies in the richness of flavor. While there are many overlapping flavors between the 4th and 5th Generations, I have found that the richness of the same flavor differs between the two generations. The richness of the 4th Generation is higher than that of the 5th Generation. However, a small drawback of the 4th Generation is that when the e-liquid is about one-tenth remaining, it starts to taste burnt, while the 5th Generation does not have this issue; it only starts to taste burnt when it is nearly empty.

In summary: The RELX 4th Generation is like a "specialized" student, while the RELX 5th Generation is a well-rounded student but always falls a bit short of being the best. Both have their strengths and weaknesses, and the choice ultimately depends on personal preference. If you're unsure, you can try both and then decide.
